Show Stannis and Show Mace are definitely dead. I'd say there is maybe a .05% chance Mace is alive via the same swerve from the books, but Stannis is dead for sure.

^ Are you guys talking about Mance Rayder? He was shot through the chest while being burnt alive and hasn't been seen since. Could he come back to life? I suppose that's possible within the confines of the show seeing as anyone who still has a head at death could maybe come back, but in terms of the current conversation he's dead

They think the legs will 'turn' if they don't get them off fast enough. Don't want to spoil the meat. Also might explain the craziness. Don't cows that eat reprocessed cows get mad cow disease. Isn't that a problem for cannibals?"

Mad Cow Disease and Kuru (and pretty much every other spongiform encephalopathy) are mainly caused by eating infected nervous tissue (brain and spinal cord and stuff).

eating someones leg isn't a big deal. plus the time between infection and first symptoms is usually years to decades in these diseases. so, no, they're just crazy.

I forgot to include Hershel in my list of main characters before, but he is probably the exception, since he was actually pretty cool in the show once he got over his period of denial, and arguably better than the comic version.

In the books he dies in the same way, but its revealed that Melisandre made Rattleshirt appear to be Mance so that Mance could live. Mance then goes on to Winterfell where it seems like he is going to help Sansa escape, a role that Theon basically took. I don't see them swerving on Mance's death at this point. Also not to mention the actor had been interviewed and was pretty angry about his role on the show, expecting it to be bigger.

And Stannis is most definitely dead (again, in the show).

Must.....fight.....GoT.....discussion.......

I think the main point, regardless of individual opinions, of walking dead characters deaths is this. Did you believe that Glenn was dying as you watched it happen?

If so, then you believe the show will kill main characters. If you refused to believe it while watching it then you don't and the show might be failing.

But based on most of the discussions I've seen, the majority of people thought he was dead as they saw it. The show cha-chinged with that emotional roller coaster.

Once Glenn is shown alive, it will lose this legitimacy for a while. Until they do kill off a main character.

---

It should also be mentioned that as soon as someone does what Rick doesnt want them to do, they die somehow. So Daryl flirted with death this episode. But he fell back into line.

More from the "he's not dead" file:

Quote :
"If you watch the episode as Glenn is dropping his weapon you can hear two clicks from Nicholas's pistol indicating he is out of ammo and no reload occurred. If Nicholas is out of ammo how did he shoot himself???? Unless the show really got this wrong, the whole scene must be a hallucination by Nicholas."

^nah, I thought it was pretty obvious since we saw their ratty Wolves clothing, and also since he had just been attacked by two of them.

^^I think his knife broke as he stabbed a zombie on his way to the RV and it cut him pretty badly. I didn't read any more to it than that.

I did find it odd that he took so long to wrap his hand after it was bleeding profusely. Seems like he'd find some cloth, or just rip his shirt to wrap it up and slow-down the bleed.

Every single person I've seen talk about Rick's cut thinks it was the broken knife.

Rick is right handed. He cuts his left hand. He stabs with his right hand.

He puts his left hand out to stop the walker. The walker has a machette in it from the person it killed (wolf?). Ricks hand gets cut by the blade of the machette as he pushes the walker.

So the real question is whether or not it will get infected, be a potential source of turning rick or him losing his hand.

I think the show likes to create the fear of a cut from a weapon used to kill walkers turning people. Its not the first time someone has been cut with a weapon that was covered in walker mess.

As far as losing his hand, the cut might be a nod to the comics where rick does lose a hand. I don't think they will actually have to amputate simply because they would have to use CG or prosthetic for the rest of the series. And I dont think him having 1 hand adds anything to the show.

However, the new medic lady will have a nice tie in to the hands resolution regardless.

^ahh nice catch! The show seems to have really backed off of potential sources of infection since the first season. Towards the beginning it was any scratch from a zombie, but as the gore has ramped up season after season, there have been more open wounds and open mouths/eyes getting sprayed with zombie guts.

^^I don't remember clearly from the episode, but how was that zombie still walking if the machete had already sliced its brain in half?

Sidenote: I remember an episode a long time ago, Season 2 I think since Shane was a live. Someone used a knife to cut their own hand open because they were using their blood to lure zombies or something. I think they were in a school bus. Regardless, if a bite from a zombie has enough bacteria and shit to infect you, I'd think any of their fluids getting in a wound would do it too. Hershel showed that you can get bitten and still survive, provided you lob off the limb and clean the wound in time.

this was explained a long time ago (at the CDC). a bite does not infect you with the zombie virus. everybody is already infected with the zombie virus, everybody. a bite just has enough bacteria (or whatever) to cause a serious (normal) infection that will kill you, and then you'll turn because of the zombie virus that everybody is infected with. herschel survived because they removed the seriously infected area.

That's what I meant. When I said a bite has enough bacteria and shit to infect you, I meant with just a standard old infection that would eventually kill you if allowed to spread throughout your body. I was just saying that if a bite can give you an infection, zombie guys all over your wound should too, but they've gotten zombie guts in their wounds before without any serious issues.

ok, gotcha. but i don't think it's the zombie blood and guts that causes the infection, i think it's the bacteria that's in their mouth, like normal humans and animals have lots of bacteria in their mouth and bites are prone to cause infections.

Well yeah but humans and animals are living things with immune systems and stuff. The zombies are literally walking corpses that are rotting.

Enjoyed it.

Only real WTF was the aikido master getting bitten in such a stupid manner. Should have had Morgan accidentally dodge, shove, freak out that caused the bite. Not the guy simply pushing him out of the way.

Im glad they did his backstory in 1 episode instead of dragging it out. Also like the tie in that it was being told to the Wolf and thats why we were being shown it.

And metaphors EVERYWHERE!

Filler episode. Basically making us wait another week to find out about Glenn and trying to quickly develop some sympathy/likability for Morgan with the audience.

Most interesting thing in the episode was the fact that he had one of the Wolves tied up in Alexandria.

Yea, this kind of episode could come off as cheesy really easy. I mean, Morgan runs into Eastman who is a forensic psychiatrist Aikido master. Its BS. But ill take it to get that actor on the show and not be a pure killer.

I was drawing parallels between Eastman's place and Morgans clearing fortifications. In the town and the woods.

They both were doing both doing the same things. One was at peace with everything and one was a raging inferno.

And a goat.

I thought it was a nice touch that as soon as Eastman gets bit the goat dies. You can draw deeper meaning from it but of course he gets out and dies.

Lot of theories swirling around that Tabitah didn't really die. That was another goats entrails on top of her and she crawled under the cabin when Morgan killed the walker. Going back to alexandria next week so we'll have to wait at least another week for resolution.

I found last nights episode to be one of the better episodes in recent memory; including a good chunk of last season.

There is no good way to get bit by a walker anymore. Its so easy to avoid them however they depict it is going to come off as silly so I found it easy to overlook that part.

Eh, nothing of note really in that episode story-wise, just some character development.

Finally some of the Alexandria people are coming around to Rick's side to see they actually need to fight and start wanting to do what is necessary to survive.
Also, nice reveal that Maggie is preggers.
Could have used some Carol this episode.

^Yeah I was surprised they didn't immediately start with that approach as well, they were pretty quick to start that procedure at the prison.
I guess really the only place they'd have a ton of success with that would be right at the front gate though,
and potentially they could get a build up where they'd basically trap themselves inside with a huge pile of dead bodies.

Also, did anyone else find it weird that Rick's marching orders were to be "silent" and hope the herd just moved on...and then no one was really all that quiet the rest of the episode?

^lol yep. "Everyone be quiet and turn off your lights. I'm gonna go stand up there where every zombie can see me."

Also, lol at the leader woman, trying to kill the zombie by stabbing it in the chest multiple times. I get that these folks have been inside the walls and stuff and don't know how to fight, but she seriously doesn't know you have to stab it in the head?
