Here's the first (that I know of) attempt at a full on replacement for springboard. Should be in the Cydia store later today or tomorrow. Personally, I don't just love the way it looks, but in the video they talk about how they've opened up the API so it shouldn't be too long we start to see all sorts of different looks and behaviors for the main screen.

Looks like the days of nothing but multiple pages of icons aren't gonna last. At least for people that want something a little different.

anybody noticed an issue where your phone will say it's connected on voice/data, but in reality theres no connection what so ever?

i had that happen yesterday. didn't notice until i tried to send a text. after it didn't go through i reset the phone and all kinds of texts and voicemails came in as soon as it came up. afterwards everyone said it was like my phone was off...

apps from cydia aren't seeming to work right, though... i know the five icon dock app and sbsettings both aren't working for me.

is it just a matter of the writers needing to upgrade them or am i doing something wrong?

anyone get blackra1n to work on a 3G in windows 7? stuck on the recovery mode (USB and itunes icon) screen, blackra1n app says "Running"...

^are you running 64 bit? There's been issues with running it in 64 bit windows i believe.

I think i'm finally going to jailbreak. So people are having issues with blackra1in and cydia apps? Another question. When i jailbreak will it completely reformat the iphone? Or will it keep my music/apps etc? And itunes syncing/app store still works per usual?

32 bit. and yes apparently there are several people posting on geohot's blog that they too are stuck in DFU mode with their 3G. sounds like it works perfectly for people with a 3GS though.

worked fine the first time i tried it but i had to restore it for something else..then it did exactly what you're describing the second time i tried.

something i read said to put the program in xp compability mode and run as administrator to make it work..still didn't to me

and you can hold power/home button for about 20 seconds and it'll reset back to normal btw

ok i got it to work - only thing i did differently is leave iTunes running. seems counter-intuitive, but it worked perfectly this time. try it out if you are stuck

blackra1n's does nothing more than install the blackra1n app. then that app can install cydia or icy or whatever you tell it to..

so, no, it doesn't delete anything

i think the issues people are having with cydia right now can be attributed to increased traffic since blackra1n went live...i had to try a few times to install AppSync and SBSettings but eventually they both downloaded and installed fine.

i get good battery life but my phone will no longer sync to itunes

some stupid error that a connection cannot be established. every time i try to sync. ive reinstalled itunes, done a restore on my phone, and nothing helps

i swear, iphones are really starting to get pretty damn buggy

For wallpaper does everyone use winterboard or bosspaper? Reading winterboard will kill battery faster using substrate.

so i'm using the ad hoc wireless router ability with pdanet and everytime my iphone goes to sleep it disconnects on the laptop. So i just have to keep it awake the entire time?
