Kenyan-born US Senate hopeful, Barrack Obama, appeared set to take over the Illinois Senate seat after his main rival, Jack Ryan, dropped out of the race on Friday night amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations.
The allegations that horrified fellow Republicans and caused his once-promising candidacy to implode in four short days have given Obama a clear lead as Republicans struggled to fetch an alternative.
Ryan’s campaign began to crumble on Monday following the release of embarrassing records from his divorce. In the records, his ex-wife, Boston Public actress Jeri Ryan, said her former husband took her to kinky sex clubs in Paris, New York and New Orleans.

When my mother graduated with her doctorate degree, they listed (and verbally announced) her as having taught in Africa for several years, although she had never been to or taught in Africa. It was probably because she's not American, and they confused one of the countries she had worked in with a similar-sounding country in Africa.
IOW, i could easily see someone making this mistake, because Obama has such a diverse background, and a weird name.

Well, they didn't say "Africa" because "Africa" is too vague. They said Kenya because it's specific. You don't just go around saying he was born in Kenya if that information isn't passed to you somehow. Not only did they say he was born in Kenya, but they mentioned him being raised in Indonesia and Hawaii, too. This document also agrees with many other unrelated sources.
I'm not ruling out that it could be an error altogether, but something tells me getting a birth country wrong is pretty hard to do. 5/18/2012 3:32:01 AM |

I get it, people mess up graduation names, diplomas and all sorts of official titles.
But seriously, what are the odds that storeies, accusations and misprints (which all of these should not be taken seriously) all parallel each other with the same theme? Then add in the whole birth certificate thing which was admitted to be a reproduction for media release.
Ok, so now I have a bunch of tales and stories, that share a similar tid bit information (that may or may not be true), that are from different people across different timelines. Pair that with a crappy handling of birth certificate and you get a conspiracy theory that a lot more people wil buy into than normal.
One scenario: he played the whole "I'm from Kenya" card to help advance his college and early career. Now he is paying the price for the early lies, because it damn sure looks like he was from Kenya, but actually wasn't.
That's one scenario, prolly not true, but hell, who knows anymore.
To sum up in one blurb, we will never know the truth, so let's just do the best we can with what we've got. 5/18/2012 7:18:05 AM |

Did you know?
•President Reagan designated Martin Luther King Jr. Day a national holiday; today the Obama Administration honors this tradition, with the First and Second Families participating in service projects on this day. •In a June 28, 1985 speech Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multi-millionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary. Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffett Rule. " |

Affectionately calling him “Do-Gooder-in-Chief”, President Obama has worked with Clinton to make buildings in our country more efficient—announcing a $4 billion investment in energy efficiency upgrades for commercial buildings. •In 2009, former President Clinton partnered with 43rd President Bush to help rebuild Haiti, after the country was devastated by an earthquake." |

If only there were some form of proof that he was born in the US.
A type of certificate, perhaps, issued at birth.
Why have we, as a country, not developed this form of official documentation? It would be such a simple task; to assign an official document to all infants born in the US.
And yet, here we are, in the year 2012, without any such system put in place, being forced to rely on book reviews and yearbook editors for our information.
It's embarrassing, really. 5/18/2012 3:17:15 PM |

I think in April a NJ court heard a suit from two residents that claimed that Obama should be removed from the ballot in NJ because he was not a Natural-Born Citizen.
Plaintiffs: Two citizens of NJ Defendant: Obama
During the questioning and bringing evidence, the plaintiffs' lawyer asked a witness who was going to offer his analysis of the validity of the birth certificate that the White House posted online. The judged had a discussion with both lawyers regarding the necessity of the witness's testimony. The plaintiffs' lawyer was willing to waive the testimony of the expert, provided the defendant's lawyer stipulated that the document the White House provided was not a valid electronic copy of the birth certificate.
The defendant's lawyer so stipulated.

That press release and accompanying documentation, as well as documentation affirming that both former Director of Health Chiyome Fukino and Director of Health Loretta Fuddy have personally viewed the birth certificate, have been consistently available on the Department of Health's.
Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett contacted the State of Hawaii in March 2012 asking for confirmation that President Obama was born in Hawaii. The Hawaii Department of the Attorney General (the "Department") spoke with Secretary Bennett and provided him with all publicly available information, including a link to the above-noted website. The Department explained that if Secretary Bennett wanted information beyond what is publicly available, then, pursuant to section 338-18(g)(2), Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS), Secretary Bennett would need to provide legal authority showing that his office is "a governmental agency or organization who for a legitimate government purpose maintains and needs to update official lists of persons in the ordinary course of the agency's or organization's activities."
Once Mr. Bennett can show this, he will be provided the "verification in lieu of a certified copy," under section 338-14.3, HRS. Since March, the Department has engaged in numerous telephone and email conversations with Secretary Bennett's office to respond to his request, but his office has so far failed to provide the adequate authority. As soon as Secretary Bennett's office provides adequate legal authority, it will receive the verification.
