Talking dead had a great transition calling her out for being the only person alive who doesn't know to go for the head.
Ok. Lets talk getting out.
Why they would start killing walkers.
Initial plan is to wait for friends to lead walkers away. They've waited a long time by the next time we get back to them. So, in their position I would assume something happened and need to be proactive.
Lets assume Rick's terminology is right. Surrounded and for every walker directly against the wall, there are 20 behind.
Find something long enough to impale a rotted zombie skull. Make the end sharp. Make handle as ergonomic as possible. This will take a while. The thing cant be metal because of how long these things are going to be. To heavy. Preferably a modified 2 x 4 or long skinny tree that Morgan had.
More than likely they don't have any small trees long/strong enough.
Now, you need to make as many as possible to get multiple Alexandrian's on it.
The platform that they are using to stand guard. Use that crap to stab zombies in head. If zombies grab stabbing device, distract them with a light so they turn the other way.
Get 20 people doing this.
So if you have 20 people killing 120 zombies per hour for 24 hours that's 57600 in 1 day.
Assuming 1 walker is 2 ft wide, 57600 zombies killed takes care of 5760 linear feet of whats surrounding them.
To prevent pile ups of corpses you move platform around the perimeter.
Hard spots you draw the remaining to a shiny thing or noise.
Hardest thing to overcome is access to zombies for impalement. And having enough spears.

I'd like to see more zombie traps on this show, it would break up the monotony a bit and add some creativity to the survival factor. So far Morgan has been the only one smart/creative/crazy enough.
As mushy as these zombies have gotten, I keep waiting to see some sort of large-scale steel cable mass-decapitation device. Take out large swaths of zombies at a time. 11/9/2015 2:30:39 PM |

I too would like that explored. But this show wont ever let the group have a break. The one season they all hung out at the farm was by far the least popular. 11/9/2015 4:10:21 PM |

lol yep, the ones in the sewer were decayed enough that Maggie could just push her hand right through them. At that point I don't know how they even had eyes that were in tact enough to see or legs strong enough to hold them up. Or for that matter, a brain that is still in good enough shape to keep the zombies "alive". At this point in the decaying process I'd think that most zombies could be taken out with a bike chain.11/9/2015 5:20:16 PM |

yea but it's not like they were preventing any zombies from coming to them, they were basically being 'ignored' by them by laying low

I agree that they could delve further into creative means of destroying zombies, if it was ingenious enough and used little supplies I would even be inclined to take notes 11/9/2015 6:47:14 PM |

Yeah I've also been in the camp for a while, that's having a hard time understanding how really old zombies can manage to do...anything.
Anything older than a few weeks (being generous) would have so little functional muscle tissue left, that even if they can walk, you could probably knock them over with 1-2 fingers. And the eyes...the eyes are clearly shown to also be decaying. There's really no way these things could/should be able to see after a week or so. 11/10/2015 8:51:34 AM |

^To be fair they've talked about how they use smell and sound just as much as sight when it comes to following humans. That's why they covered themselves in dead walker guts. 11/10/2015 9:02:09 AM |

the blood trickling through the wall is meant so show the tremendous amount of pressure behind the herd, i.e. the wall is going to get pushed down soon - although I do like the ramp idea.
could they fabricate a snow plow type thing onto a car or multiple cars and just plow a line out?
can you burn zombies to kill them? 11/10/2015 9:57:38 AM |

Pretty sure you can burn zombies to kill them...there was that episode where they burned the zombies that the Governor had trapped that he used to use for various purposes 11/10/2015 10:14:21 AM |
Wraith All American 27257 Posts user info edit post |
Burning wouldn't necessarily kill them. In the pit the Governor had, lots of the zombies were still "alive", just not wandering around. They were badly charred and stuff, but could still bite. It is a viable option but it would be very difficult to get a giant mass that big to catch on fire. They could throw gasoline over the side and stuff but that's not gonna catch the whole horde, just a handful of them at most. 11/10/2015 1:22:24 PM |

LudaChris All American 7946 Posts user info edit post |
^They've shown in the past that smoke can attract zombies, as well as loud noises(gunfire, explosions, etc). So I think setting a giant fire around Alexandria would be pretty poor planning. 11/11/2015 8:44:34 AM |

True, but exactly how long do you expect the very fragile ear drums within zombies to last? Again, a few weeks tops and then they can't hear shit.
Smell...seems like that could be the last one to go.
Another question. Why haven't any of the walker's teeth fallen out? After a few weeks all those teeth would fall right out. Slippery slope I guess

Perhaps whatever is causing them to reanimate also helps sustain their bodies and decreases the rate at which things rot? I mean if you buy into a dead body reanimating and seeking out people to eat, have to kinda let things like that slide. Perhaps feeding on other humans helps to further slow deterioration, thus being the internal drive to want to eat live meat. 11/11/2015 10:47:50 AM |

New Plan
Use Maggie's method.
On a long stretch of fence. Use flashlights and sound maybe to draw wall walkers to them. Gap forms. Send 3 or 4 best fighters over to break out. Go get car. Lure all walkers away. Same plan Rick is waiting on Daryl Abraham and Sasha to execute. 11/12/2015 9:55:43 PM |

The past few episodes have had too many speeches. Rick almost got bit up while running back from the road and the first thing he does is give a speech. Give it up about Glenn already. He lives, even though it's pretty much impossible (I know it's a show about zombies but still). To me it's the farm all over again, they're milking this for all its worth. 11/16/2015 7:23:30 AM |

I was torn on this episode. Everything with Daryl was great. Everything with Abraham/Sasha was boring and too preachy. Though, do like that Abraham found an RPG, haha, could see that coming in handy later.
We get it, Glenn isn't dead, the internet kinda killed that big plot twist.
Can we please get the crew back to Alexandria? Seems like each season is just "group starts together, we break the group up, we put the group back together." 11/16/2015 8:24:00 AM |

Its hard to make a settlement interesting. Its even harder to make a settlement interesting in the same way that made The Walking Dead interesting to begin with.
You have to go outside the fence to find plot lines to entertain the audience. I am really enjoying how they took a single 12 hour period and created 6? episodes out of it.
The show has basically setup that the core of Ricks group cant be killed when they are all together. Too many bad asses. So to create any real tension you have to split them up.
They are fleshing out the characters instead of everyone always running and gunning walkers. Everyone is going through their own mental breaks and finding their way back. I mean if you only want walkers attacking and killing people, you'll not only run out of people, you'll run out of interest in it eventually.

Or just slowly walked away in the other direction while getting the crossbow out? Shouldn't killing walkers be pretty straightforward for these guys by now? ^The 3 people Daryl found were actively looking for the truck(Patty), but they didn't know where the truck was. They thought the truck was inside the fence where they found the building and all the zombies in the yard.
Had they known the truck was there, they likely never would have ran into Daryl and definitely wouldn't have stolen the motorcycle at the end. They stole the bike because they were looking for a ride the whole time.
I do think it was too convenient that Daryl found a truck all of a sudden behind some branches just when he needed a ride, but at least the truck was thought to be in that area. 11/18/2015 8:34:47 AM |

They needed to kill of the genetically inferior person.
I thought it was lame and unrealistic both that the glass would so evenly cover people on the ground, how easily they would spring to life through the glass, and her reaction was to lay down with them basically instead of jumping back.
Seems like some sort of metaphor or them being too cute.

One could potentially chalk that up to Daryl being a really good hunter/tracker. If he knew they were looking for a vehicle, it isn't too far fetched that he would find it.
Also lolling at the stupid girl laying down next to the zombie. I don't even know how the zombies could be strong enough to break the glass at this point. They had been under there rotting for years at this point.11/18/2015 12:53:57 PM |

Discussing TWD with co worker an interesting thought came up.
For the most part, if Ricks group encounters another group, they absorb it. And eventually only 1 person is left.
The original RV group is the core group.
Rick, Carl, Judith, Carol, Daryl, Glenn.
Farm => Maggie
Tyreese's group => Sasha
Governor Group => Lesbian Brunette girl
Morgans Family => Morgan
Abraham's group => Haven't been killed off yet. The girl is zombie bait. Sad cause she is hot. But shes a goner.
Alexandria => Lots of zombie bait. Will all die at some point leaving one person. Probably ricks slam piece. Though, killing her off would be one hell of a revenge line for Rick to just go ape shit on someone.
All the people at the prison died, all the antagonists they've encountered have been destroyed etc.

I think Eugene is more likely to get killed off than Rosita. At least Rosita knows how to fight. I feel like Eugene is pretty much dead weight at this point. He's intelligent yes, but not the kind of intelligent they need.11/20/2015 2:59:47 PM |

I wonder if its a good method for predicting who dies.
You could assume the core group is untouchable.
So by this it must be someone from Abraham's group and several from Alexandria. 11/20/2015 4:01:34 PM |
