OMFG WTF

That chick who caught on fire after falling while twerking upside down.... she is a stunt woman and it was all staged with JIMMY KIMMEL???

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HSJMoH7tnvw

The first thought I had when I watched the original video was "why does it end where it ends?" and that I want to see the fire put out etc.

So while watching the linked video here Jimmy said they had the full video, I was excited to see what happens... But after watching it, I am disappointed, grrrr.

But goddamn she can move that body

This kid is awesome... He should get an Oscar for his skills.

I loved the Nigerian accent the most... He sounded like Forrest Whittaker from the last king of Scotland.

Ok so I have played with that and it is awesome. Funny how if you zoom into a city and suddenly see a huge tight concentration of Asians in a small spot among mainly whites or blacks or Hispanics, it is almost always a university Quite cool to see it for NCSU. Of course, you have to go to the same place in google maps to see what is there.

Quite amazing how the western half is so sparsely populated, and also how blacks are mostly in the south east of the US. Lots of insights in that dot map.

NCSUam0s, do you have some kind of popup-blocker installed on Chrome? I know Better Popup Blocker (which I use) also blocks iframes on sites where you're blocking popups, and that embedded YouTube video uses an iframe to do the work.

chembob, I've long suspected that the area where I live is about 1/3 Black, and it seems like I live across the street from a concentration of African Americans, and there are occasional pockets of Black population in this mostly White area, which appears to be uniformly peppered with Asians and doesn't appear to have any Hispanics or people of other races; the divisions aren't as stark as the 8 Mile area, though.
(I don't make a point to visit the neighbors including my fellow White folks on my side of the street, because I just don't feel like it; my estimate of the area's racial composition is based on what I see when I go to buy groceries.)

Quote :
"Noah, a short film that debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival, illustrates the flitting attention span and lack of true connection in digital culture more clearly than anything else in recent memory. (Warning: NSFW)

These words are probably unfurling inside one of many open tabs on your computer screen. Perhaps one tab is for work, one is for chatting, and another is for Twitter. You probably even have some others open for no particular reason. This is the way we receive information and the way we communicate now: constantly, simultaneously, compulsively, endlessly, and more and more often, solitarily. This strange new mode of living--and its indelible effect on our humanity--is perfectly captured in a new short film that debuted this week at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The 17-minute, mildly NSFW Noah is unlike anything you've seen before in a movie--only because it is exactly like what many of us see on our computers all the time. Created by Canadian film students Walter Woodman and Patrick Cederberg, the film begins when our high school senior protagonist types in the password that opens up his laptop, and the narrative takes place entirely on his computer screen."

http://welldonestuff.com/magical-recycle-machine/

Quote :
"Office Recycling Machine Magically Turns Papers into Pencils

Believe it or not, some offices still use pencils and paper to communicate. Those that do often find that they have an abundance of waste paper and a lack of usable pencils. This brilliant solution takes care of both problems at once by using waste paper to create brand spanking new pencils. It’s called the P&P Office Waste Paper Processor, and it’s designed to provide low-cost writing implements from office waste.

The machine uses a relatively simple procedure to recycle your old papers into writing instruments. You fill up its compartments with pencil leads and glue, then feed a piece of paper in and the paper is wound tightly around the lead while glue is dispensed to hold it all together. Shortly after you put the paper in, a new pencil pops out.

The pencil chute also works as a pencil sharpener, presumably after making an adjustment somewhere to activate that function. The pencils produced by this unusual machine are all unique; the design depends on what was on the paper that’s fed into the gadget.

It’s doubtful that making pencils from old paper would actually save any money or energy over, say, recycling paper the standard way and just buying new pencils for pennies each. But for classrooms and offices that use both pencils and paper like crazy, having a handy way to take care of both problems simultaneously could be a welcome change. The P&P is just a concept for now, but given the fact that recycled paper pencils are already being sold extensively it seems like only a matter of time before this machine becomes a reality."
