i don't think you would need to gain momentum for a lightsaber swing like that because they only weigh about a pound (at least as far as i can tell, i would imagine that the handle is the only part with real weight to it). you would be able to create pretty much all the momentum you could with just one flick of the wrist. do you get what i'm saying?

yeah i agree, there's also the possibility that they're taking offensive swings at the same time and missing? "he's swinging at my head, ill swing at his waist since it's not guarded" both miss....or it could be like that hypnotize thing, lull them to sleep with lots of swinging and then strike...but i dont think they'd both be trying to lull the other at the same time 5/4/2005 5:58:04 PM |

^^^^It may not weigh much, but they would still want to put as much force (no pun intended ) into the swing as possible. That way, if their opponent blocks it, they will still knock his lightsaber back or have the advantage in a saber lock. 5/4/2005 6:51:56 PM |

don't try to analyze lightsaber fightning
like any swordfightning in movies, it's pretty goofy
you just have to assume the force guides them 5/4/2005 7:01:07 PM |

Going back to that, I honestly think it's a little of both. I bet he did try harder with this one, especially given the reactions to the first two. But I think the first two will be easier to appreciate after having seen this one. For one thing, even though you know in the back of your mind that that little pissant kid is gonna turn into Vader, I don't think you really appreciate it. I think seeing the actual moment of his (nearly) fulling turning, it'll bring it all together.
Unfortunately, a freaking video game commercial seems to have given away just what that moment will be like 5/5/2005 8:19:46 PM |

the video game version of the ending won't give it away. most video games start production 1.5 to 2 years ahead of release. you know he goes to the dark side, you know he gets burned up, not too much to spoil unless you see it on film... 5/6/2005 1:57:54 PM |

The commentaries on democracy are offered in direct counterpoint to a government that is clearly overstepping its bounds, and the parallels are obvious to anyone looking for them. While Bush might not be an evil emperor (yet), it's not that far a trip from Senator Palpatine to Tom DeLay." |

I'm tempted to go to Best Buy and get one of those ub4r expensive light sabers and take it back after the premiere. They are like $150, but they are exact replicas and make the sounds when you turn them on/off and wave or fight with them. 5/6/2005 3:09:53 PM |

Oh hell yes. I've got the Lego Jedi Starfighter & Vulture Droid set and the ARC-170 set. I've also been buying several of the different variations of the Clone Troopers. Hardest ones to find so far are the Clone Commander, AT-TE Gunner, Clone Pilot, and Jet Trooper, however the main prize I have now is the Target exclusive SA Clone Trooper.5/6/2005 9:03:36 PM |

I'm still wondering why the vol 1 dvd wasn't put on hold until they could put both seasons on dvd. And they still could've had it released with plenty of time to spare before 5/195/9/2005 1:11:12 AM |

To the best of my knowledge, Sifo-Dyas was NOT Sidious/Palpatine (and this will be acknowledged in the movie). He was indeed a member of the Jedi Council, and was a friend of Dooku. In order to prove his loyalty to the Sith, Palpatine ordered Dooku to murder Sifo-Dyas shortly after the order was placed for the clone army. He was then ordered to remove all traces of the clones and of Kamino from the Jedi Archives.
The question still remains, though, as to WHY Sifo-Dyas ordered the clone army, and on whose authority. I have not seen any clear answer on this at all. I do think it would be interesting if somehow all of the spoilers were wrong and Sifo-Dyas DOES turn out to be Palpatine (especially now that the book is out), but I feel like I'd have seen something about it on TFN. 5/9/2005 8:19:09 AM |
