my 2 backup RBs both did better than my 2nd rounder Lamont Jordan, who is playing the Ravens this week, so I'm sitting him.
Warrick Dunn is gonna be my #1 this week against Tampa Bay.
But of my two backups, Mike Bell, 14 points last week vs. Rams and Frank Gore, 26 points last week vs. Arizona, which one should I play this week?
Bell plays Kansas City and Gore plays St Louis. 9/12/2006 1:13:14 PM |

Gore, Gore, Gore.
It's already been announced that Tatum Bell is the starter, not to mention that Mike Bell fucked up his finger.
Gore has that position locked down, and is playing well with it.
Start Gore with Confidence. 9/12/2006 2:23:21 PM |

I picked up Pennington this week and dropped Rothlisberger. My other QBs are Rivers and Bledsoe. I think Rivers will do well later in the season when they turn him loose, but Pennington will be my man after this week until that happens.
I'm playing Bledsoe this week no matter what because my opponent has T.O. and Witten, and in our league all yards and scores are equal, so no matter how well they do, I get all t he points from Bledsoe (assuming Romo doesn't get the nod, which I can't see happening.) 9/12/2006 4:27:43 PM |

THE GURU'S ADVICE FOR THE DAY
All that glitters is not gold.
Be careful not to hastily jump on, or off, the bandwagon of a player based on a week 1 performance.
Many of Championship opprotunities have been won and lost by doing just this. Give it time, you should really be able to tell the value of a player after week 2 or 3.

I'm stacked at RB but I really need some help at WR. My 2 starters scored 7 points combined. The four on the bench (excluding Cotchery) combined for even less. Here is who I have and who they play next week.
Reggie Wayne @ Houston Eddie Kennison @ Denver (Considering dropping from team) Jerry Porter @ Baltimore (also considering dropping) Mark Clayton @ Oakland Michael Clayton @ Atlanta Jericho Cotchery @ New England (I benched him last week but he scored twice as many points as any of my other recievers. Thinking about starting him)
I think its time to get rid of some of these guys. I'm not sure if I can convince anyone to trade. Michael Jenkins and Koren Robinson are both available on the wavers. Any suggestions? I was lucky enough to pull off the win despite getting nothing from my WRs. Looking at other scores in my league, I'm going to have to make some major changes if I want to continue winning.

so I need a good RB, all the big timers are gone like the usual names
even Gore and Taylor are gone, I need someone that most people wouldnt expect to have big numbers I dont know how trustworthy Henry from Tenn. is
basically i need a HUGE output this week, playing a high scorer and my RBs are Edge and Lamont, kinda worried about Edge at Seattle and Lamont, bad performance last night...but I still need a good backup, not sure how Addai will turn out either against Houston 9/12/2006 5:05:24 PM |

^^you could go with Jenkins...
but I have seen reports that say a deal could be in the works sending Porter to the Patriots.
If that happened, Porter would be a very solid #1 or 2 receiver for them. Hold off on dumping him.
Kennison sucks, he is old. Especially now that Green is hurt and out for a few weeks, his numbers are going to suffer big time. You also have to keep in mind that Kennison's glory years were with a completely different OC and HC, they now play in a much more conservative offense. His numbers will be much different than seasons past.
That will be a trend for this season, not a one week poor outing.
I'm not a big fan though of dumping any teams #1 receiver, so if possible, try to include him in a 2 or 3 person trade and see what you can get.
^if you want help, let us know who is on the waiver wire. Sort by RB's and then fantasy scores. Who is in the top ten?

^^^,^ you shouldn't expect a single starter to be available...i'm surprised all of those guys you listed are available. how many teams are in your league? you should pick up a back or 2 and hope they work out. i would go with 2 of dillon, henry, and barlow(and pick up the third if you can make room on your roster). jacobs will be good if tiki gets hurt...which is doubtful.
p.s. bismal isn't a word...its abysmal 9/12/2006 5:43:22 PM |

I may pick up Henry and drop Addai, not sure, may end up keeping Addai just to see and let Edge and Lamont play their way out of their troubles this week, tryin to make a trade as it is now for Reggie Bush to replace Lamont this week, or should I go for Duece instead? 9/12/2006 5:49:56 PM |

Aight I dont know who to start a couple of positions:
QB: Rivers vs Tenn (looked great but didnt throw enough) Delhomo vs Min (without smith Im having a reaaaaal hard time starting him) Bledsoe vs Was (looked terrible against Jax)
For WR im starting: C. Chambers H. Ward
W/R spot:
D. Foster vs Min Cotchery vs NE Bennett vs SD Wilford vs PIT 9/12/2006 6:14:39 PM |

MOODY: Depends on injuries. If Housh is playing, play him and Plaxico, if not you'll be forced to play the other 2. I'd probably sit either LJ or Parker. I think with Trent Green out they'll have 8-9 guys in the box every play just to stop LJ who is behind that old and depleted OL.
FuhCtious: You may want to reconsider that. Big Ben might miss another game, but I wouldn't bank on Chad Pennington just yet. He hasn't made it through a season in a long time and he was going up against a terrible Tennessee D. May work out in your favor, but I'm sure you could have used Big Ben as trade bait if your league is large enough.
JRattB: If the Porter rumors are true of him going to NE, then hold onto him for sure. The only reciever on their I'd consider dropping right now would be Kennison. I wouldn't pick up K-Rob just yet though, but Jenkins may be worth a try.
AC Slater: QB: Based on match-up I'd say go with Rivers, but due to Marty really keeping the chains tight on him, don't expect him to start throwing it up a lot just yet. If Smith is in, then go with Delhomme, if not, I'd say go with Bledsoe, much more likely to be airing it out, and having good recievers and a good TE help, he just has to get some protection.
W/R: I usually play RB's in this spot when possible, so I'd say go with Foster despite the poor showing against ATL. Bennett and Wilford are going up against good D's, so if you have no faith in Foster(don't blame you), go with Cotchery. 9/12/2006 6:36:04 PM |

willis mcgahee burned me last season - playing the diamond in the rough role and being a fantasy stud are usually two pretty incompatible things... the rest of the bills's suckage just brings his value down as a whole, and for some inexplicable reason they're sticking with losman
but then, pennington is fragile these days, so that's a gamble too
to conclude, i offer no advice either way with this post - depends on the value of the other backs you have

Samkon Gado traded to the Texans to take over as thier starting Running Back.
They are still the Texans, but if you are in need, this could be a better option than a backup.

there are rumors about that trade, havent seen anything official but i see no reason to doubt it. texans didnt get much from lundy and morency, so i wouldn't be surprised. i'm not really sure why the packers would straight up trade gado for morency, as it seems like a bad deal on their part, but whatever.

Eli is playing philly who didnt give up many points last week but they did give up 200 passing yards, however Marc is playing san fran and they gave up 317 and 3td to arizona....... ESPN has manning projected at 11.7 points and Bulger at 17.5 for this week but its so hard for me to want to bench eli

JT3bucky All American 23258 Posts user info edit post |
Bulger is always throwing it, well in the past, as you saw the other night Eli mainly has Tiki to compete with and Jackson for the Rams isnt that much of a contender
Id go with Jackson against a defensively lacking team 9/13/2006 7:00:24 PM |
Panthro All American 7333 Posts user info edit post |
^I disagree.
Eli will have some big yardage numbers this week at Philly. Tiki has historically PWNED the Eagles, and as we saw v. the Colts, he does most of his damage and little dump passes from Manning and turns them into big gains.
It may not be the popular choice, but I'd take Eli in a game where they are going to do thier damn best not to go to 0-2.
Start Eli.
Also: Remember that this isnt your Rams from 3-4 years ago (or even last year for that matter). If they showed anything in week one, it was thier ability to stick with the run and grind it out. Thats why Jeff Wilkins had so many field goals. Instead of being the old Rams and winging it on third down, they are MUCH more conservative and playing smarter (hence the WIN against a talented AFC Broncos team).
Go with Manning. 9/13/2006 7:42:39 PM |
