this was gonna be my response to the lockked thread

if our qb was as good as the rest of our team we woulndt be mediocre. you don't understand that the quarterback is the most important position in football and that a decent qb is essential to winning.

you don't have a decent qb you lose. plain and simple.

and weatherford is better than our qbs but still sucks ass.



you people ignore the fact that our defense is pretty good just because we are being outscored. we have one of the worst offenses in the country both scoring and yardage wise but still only get outscored by a fg per game.

that leads us to the offense to try and find our probelm. oline and running backs have been the 2 best recruited positions (according to your holy rivals) and plays decent so thats not the problem.
the receivers seem to be able to catch the ball most of the time and make the craziest catches from time to time.

so it doesnt take a rocket scientist to realize the missing link is the qb. if you want to blame chuck for taht fine. i dont but its not fine to say chuck si not putting talent on the rest of the team.

he goofed with stone as did rivals but i'm not going to fire him over 1 bad recruitment.
marcus is an ahtlete so he can play wr. hes not good at it but plays because he knows the offense better than anyone.

This is why they get paid big buck. College football has become a business now I don’t like it, I don’t agree with it but that is the way it is. Over 7 years ago our chancellor decided to run it like a business I did not agree with it then but that is the way it is. We are talking millions pumped into a program that is going stagnate by the day. Collage football is very ugly but that what people have wanted it to become.

What I hope doesnt happen is that the other ACC programs that are on the rise become able to beat us 75% of the time. alla, GT, Clemson, BC, VT. As in, are program grows at a slower rate that they do, and then we end up leveling out short of becoming competitive in our division.

(This is assuming we actually continue to grow, and we havent leveled out already)

You guys can't expect us to compete for the ACC anymore now that it has expanded into a football power conference. Had the expansion not taken place I could understand you wanting us to compete for the division every year but those aren't realistic expectations in today's world.

Get out of here with that garbage. The only team worth a damn that came over that has consistently been great is Virginia Tech. VT didn't even consistently do well in the Old BE. We can and should strive to compete in the new ACC.

I think if we lose to UNC Amato should be removed. They are absolutely terrible this season, and Akron was unbelievable to begin with. I can't imagine anyone keeping him if we end this season on a losing streak.

We lost 6 defensive starters to the NFL and were picked last in the conference and every D-1A team on our schedule was ranked higher than us pre-season. 3-9 was the prediction, but nobody believed it.....combine that with the fact that we've flopped on 3 straight quarterbacks and are redshirting the best one to come along since PR....its not a good situation.


We should not expect to win these next two games.


However


IF we lose the two most important games of the year, especially the UNC game which we should have won the last two years....Amato's seat is gonna be freakin hot in december and january. He's not going to get fired unless he loses these two games and Bill Cowher decided he wants to coach here...which aint gonna happen

Basically, nothing is going to happen to him. He's been redshirting players and hopefully developing some talent behind these seniors this year, and next year he can let them lose. He just signed a 4* Wide receiver and has some serious tallent left on the recruiting board at our biggest position of need: Linebacker.


He isnt going anywhere. Best thing that can happen is for everyone to shut the fuck up about it so our recruits dont overlook us thinking that Chuck will be fired in a year. I believe that next year should be the ultimatum year, but not this year with all we lost on D.

I'll forigive Chuck for his sins this season if he wins the last 2 games. However, next season he needs to win at LEAST 7 games or he should be fired. If we lose to UNC on saturday Chuck should never come back to Raleigh.
