Isn't that exactly how he makes his money now?

Manipulate demand by saying buy or sell on his show?

no, that is not how he makes money on his show. i've been following Cramer since before CNBC had ever heard of him, and i don't think that's his M.O.

Cramer doesn't do the pump and dump biz with the general public. he does outmaneuver other trading desks by running up/down derivatives prices. even then he isn't that great at it. Steve Cohen at SAC Capital is bloody awesome at it.

i think the vast majority of the media is looking for the next Dan Dorfman. Dorfman was pump and dump back in the 90s, and he left a real bad taste in everybody's mouth.

i suggest you guys look up these names.

Cramer's worst crime is that he has become unberably annoying.

Phil Ken Sebben: It's 1985, Birdman, wake up! The smart money is going into S&L's... like that one!
Harvey: You mean Lincoln Savings & Loans?
Phil Ken Sebben: Right, S&L's are unkillable. Ever seen It's a Wonderful Life? Even that Bailey bastard couldn't screw it up! ...And the rest on gift certificates!

I looked at GS and JPM long and hard but ended up going with JPM.

It just felt like too many people downgraded GS over the past few months.

I'm extremely light in the healthcare sector. Right now I'm just sitting on some IDEV and PFE and writing covered calls on them.

Any favorites that I should look at?

What do you guys think about this:

http://finance.yahoo.com/banking-budgeting/article/102670/nickel-and-diming-your-way-to-riches

Quote :
"Maestros will borrow from credit cards with 0 percent introductory rates and then use the money to earn a little interest, often stashing the cash at EmigrantDirect, HSBC Direct or one of the other banks with high-yield online savings accounts.

"One year, I took $62,000 in cash advances on four cards with 0 percent rates and put it in a money-market account," chortles Scott Bilker, founder of DebtSmart.com, who has 80 credit cards to his name. "I made $1,800 in interest.""

I thought that was interesting, but there has to be more downside to this than missing a credit card payment and getting screwed...it just seems to sketchy / illegal

I've actually heard of people doing that before. If I wasn't looking to borrow money in the near future I would probably look into it. If you need more info, I see someone bring it up once I month here

there's been unusual volume in biotechs and small/mid sized pharma in the last trading few sessions -- go to nasdaq.com and click on the "most active" and "unsual volume" buttons on the left.

a good bit of it has to do with a lot of upcoming clinical milestones & regulatory events, some of it may be a cycling into healthcare as a defensive play.

"Tucci said the gem in EMC's crown is VMWare as the spotlight is on virtualization.

EMC is planning to offer 10 percent of VMWare in an initial public offering mid-year.

"I always knew I was going to do this [the IPO] but everything is about timing and the market is really heating up right now," he said adding that when EMC bought VMWare in 2004 it had 300 staff.

Today, VMWare has 3,000 staff and the company has more than 20,000 customers with more than 10 per cent of new x86 workloads running on VMWare software.

Revenue from the EMC subsidiary was up 83 percent in 2006, totalling $709 million.

Tucci said this will reach well over a $1 billion this year.

stoozing sounds like it'll work for a couple of years until your credit is shot, i'm gonna guess that administrative costs + higher future borrowing rates will eliminate any benefits...and if it it was that easy (essentially a risk-free profit), then it would be eliminated via arbitrage.

^^^ from the minute of reading that i did. it sounded like you open up new credit cards for the low introductory 0% rate, take that money and invest it in some guaranteed savings account earning ~5%, and make the risk free ~5% after you take it back out and pay off the CC debt which accured no interest...if this is correct, then i stick to my original post that this is poor idea...correct me if i'm wrong
