The patriots weren't lucky, there were just smarter. Don't be a bunch of vaginas.
How many NCSU games have we seen where the other team won simply because they made less mistakes? That's what happened in this game. Furthermore, there were some questionable coaching decisions. 1/14/2007 8:23:46 PM |

yeah I know...I'm just saying that this game was not his fault. Two fumbles, countless dropped passes, and that one stupid fucking 15 yarder on on a would be 4th down. Coaching had nothing to do with that.1/14/2007 8:25:39 PM |

Too many dropped passes, stupid personal foul penalities, and that turnover after the interception did them in. Oh almost forgot about the the fumble punt reception. All thosde factors did them in going against a good experienced team like the Pats. Lack of inexperience showed on the Chargers side as well. Maybe next year. 1/14/2007 8:25:44 PM |

Did you see the pointless challenge and giving up a timeout, that would have given San Diego a minimum of one more play to get closer. Did you see Marty go for it on 4th and 11 in the first quarter on the 30, not even giving his kicker a chance at a 47 yarder, instead attempting to gain 11 on one solitary play.1/14/2007 8:25:53 PM |

I'm not a betting guy, but does this mean you basically pulled out and cancelled your bet on the patriots?

Exactly. Shotty doesn't even interfere with the play calling of the coordinators. He only makes the big decisions like going for it and challenging. He fucked up those few things that he does do.1/14/2007 8:27:58 PM |

So I flipped back to the game at the 2 minute warning with the Pats facing the 3rd and 5 that they missed.
SD had 1 timeout left at that point, right? I know you want to try and hang on to that, but wouldn't it have been better to save the 46 seconds that ran off the clock then? 1/14/2007 8:30:27 PM |
wolfAApack All American 9980 Posts user info edit post |
not challenging would have given them a chance to tie. The two fumbles cost them 10 points. Dropped passes could have cost more than that.
but yeah going for it on 4th and 11 was dumb....he still didnt lose this game for them though. 1/14/2007 8:30:48 PM |

This is an excellent point. They could have actually used this time out before the Pats kicked that FG in last 2 minutes. Would've stopped the clock around 1:52 instead of allowing the Patriots to run it down to 1:12 before the kick. Then the Chargers would have had an additional ~40 seconds to get Kaeding closer on the ensuing drive.

rallydurham never stops trolling does he? Rivers will be back in the playoffs for years to come, unlike your boy ron mexico. it must suck for you this time of year... you ride vick's cock all year long and then playoff time comes around and you can't anymore. i'm sure you are used to it by now.
anyway, rivers didn't lose this game. some nc state shit will cause you to lose everytime though haha.
dropped passes fumbled punt two costly personal fouls big interception on 4th down and fumble it right back wasting a timeout on a stupid challenge wtf?
a lot of talking leading up to this game about rivers handling the pressure of his first playoff game. i think he did pretty well. seemed like some of the other SD players couldn't handle the pressure.

I think Eric Parker pretty much lost the game for them. He had 3+ drop passes negating first downs, halting momentum, and a fumbled punt leading to NE starting at the red zone.
Plus the other receivers dropped an extra 3-4 passes. Vincent Johnson (i think is his name) also....fucking pathetic receiving corp. 1/14/2007 8:42:12 PM |

The coaches lost this one with about 3 min they run LDT for a 6 yard gain
next 2 plays are passes
why not run the ball with the MVP of the NFL and use the clock if u get a TD great if not you run the clock out with the ball in NE territory and can kick a FG.
thats where they messed upon that three and out
that decision lost the game 1/14/2007 8:46:46 PM |

I'm hurt.
Brady was 27 out of 51 for 280 yards. He had 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Rivers was 14 out of 32 for 230 yards. He had 0 touchdowns and 1 interception.
Quarterbacks: a wash. Brady and Rivers were both as terrible as each other.
I bring up NASCAR cause every commercial during a race has a racecar driver in it. So it's hard for me to get worked up over Manning once every commercial break. If you're tired of seeing Peyton Manning, there's a very simple solution, NOT WATCH ASSHOLE or fork up the $200,000 out of your sock drawer to pay for a 30-second spot!

I never seen as many dropped passes I am pissed that the perfectly thrown ball to the back of the end-zone in the 3rd was a waste since the receiver didn't even bother to try to get the second foot in and 4th and 11 will haunt me for years --- who does that on the opening drive? Not to mention the fact that if you are on defense on 4th down and you are BEHIND THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE, catching a football does not help your team. Knock it down and get the ball back on loss of downs.
they did not deserve to win this game.

Huh? Vick is 2-2 in the playoffs. Rivers is 0-1.
Vick has a conference championship appearance and Rivers does not.
Vick has never had nearly as good of a supporting cast as the 2006 Chargers were.
I fail to see where you are going with this.
And yes, Im trolling. Rivers didnt play that badly. His team let him down. Funny that logic isnt allowed to be applied when Vick plays well and his team lets him down.1/14/2007 9:08:04 PM |
