13/ 23 2-pointers
2/3 3-pointers
13/13 Free Throws
13 + 1.5*(2) + 0.5*(13) = 22.5
23 + 3 + (13/2) = 32.5
22.5/32.5 = 69.2%
The guy had an adjsuted field goal percentage of 69.2% from the SHOOTING GUARD position. Do you realize how utterly dominant that is? Do you have any clue how tough it is to beat a team that has a guy score FORTY FIVE POINTS on almost 70% shooting???
I mean for the love of god he had the time to drop 6 assists and collect 6 rebounds too.
What more could you possibly want from this guy?
Odom and Brown both had pretty strong games statistically but the rest of his team was a combined 3/24 FG!! That's like 12.5%! And you wonder why he tends to shoot more often than he passes good lord. 4/27/2007 1:38:39 AM |

series 2-1... anyone wanna take a bet on the Lakers and the wannabe MVP..
White boy is gonna win it all this year (Nash) 4/27/2007 4:17:55 AM |

I mean clearly I dont think the Lakers are gonna win the series.
They are a pretty average team thats been hit hard by injuries this year.
The Suns on the other hand have a very strong team and are pretty healthy right now.
That doesn't mean it's not obvious who the best player in the series is.
I love to watch Phoenix and I'll be pulling for them to win it all. But they have yet to demonstrate they can get by the Spurs or the Mavericks and they'll have to go through both of them to reach the Finals. 4/27/2007 5:00:13 AM |

I hope Kobe wins the MVP this year, but I have a bad feeling the voters are going to give it to Nowitski since he is the "best player on the best team". Kobe deserves it without question in my mind
If Kobe had a good PG to play with, I think the Lakers would be a dominant team in the West 4/27/2007 8:40:36 AM |

^really? i imagine you have very little company with you on that. a great 7' power forward(one of the three best in the league) with one of the better jumpers in the game is hard to find...whereas an above average point guard isn't as tough to get a hold of. 4/28/2007 12:18:36 PM |

Once again, for the seventh time, Kobe makes the NBA All-Defensive 1st team Squad.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2854317
So again, I reiterate my point. Kobe plays BOTH ends of the floor. Offense (see 83 pts) AND defense (see 7 time NBA All-Defensive 1st Team Squad). 4/30/2007 4:35:33 PM |

how can you use the "kobe has won championships so he is better" argument? just like jordan's teamates would never have dreamed up a championship without him, kobe would never have even been to the finals without shaq. on a couple of those teams he wasn't even the second option.
and what is the deal with saying the lakers would be awesome with a good PG.... didn't they have a guy named gary payton a couple years ago and he is one of the best of all time. the thing is, kobe doesn't want a good point guard on his team. he wants to be the main focus and center of attention every time down the court. if a good pg came to town and the lakers won it all, then kobe would have to hear about how that pg took them over the top, how kobe couldn't do it by himself and he doesn't want that.... that is why he doesnt succeed right now. he would rather sit at home during the finals and get his nuts licked by all the kobe lovers about how great he is and how if only his teamates were better he would win championships, then actually have a good team and advance. 5/2/2007 6:53:00 AM |

You do realize the last time that Gary Payton was a Laker, Shaq was also a Laker, right?
It's never been Kobe, good point guard, no Shaq.
If I were Kobe I wouldn't want an over-the-hill, now mediocre point guard trying to leech a championship off me either. 5/2/2007 8:54:17 AM |

^^^^ You have to be kidding if you think Kobe would rather be the only good player on a bad team than be the main star on a championship team.
He didn't want to play with Shaq because Shaq is a douchebag and has a bigger head than Kobe does, how would you construe that as he doesn't want to play with a good point guard?

shaq has won a championship since being kicked out of LA and i don't see how you can say he has a bigger ego than kobe when he had no problem being the second option behind d-wade in miami and winning a title
it seems pretty obvious that kobe preferred being the star on a mediocre team over sharing the spotlight with shaq on a dynasty team 5/2/2007 9:08:14 AM |

He has no choice but to be the second option now, he's getting old and isn't as good as he was in LA.
He wasn't going to be the second option when he got there, unless you forgot about how he labeled Wade his "sidekick"
Kobe doesn't have anything against playing with another star, he has something against playing with Shaq. 5/2/2007 9:16:18 AM |

kind of the same way kobe rode shaq's to 3 rings until he got to proud to even coexist with the guy .... that team could have went down as one of the top 2-3 dynasties in nba history 5/2/2007 9:17:34 AM |
