I'm not sure Vogt every really "loved" being here. I suspect he'll end up closer to home.

you can't tell me going to a bowl this year won't be an accomplishment. geez, yeah car care isn't ideal but let's be reasonable, after the shit show amato created, I'll take it next year.

I'd even be relatively satisfied with a 500 season this year. Excuse the cliche, but let's face it, this is a "rebuilding" or "restructuring" year. While I'm reserving my judgement for the 2008 season, I'm still really excited about this year and the future path the PACK is headed down.

Where did Vogt and Miller transfer to? I don't have the premy account, and don't even know if it mentioned where they were headed.

^^Making a bowl>>>>>NIT but I see what you are saying.

^Miller was a redshirt junior this coming year so he only has 1 year left. What gives? Vogt would be a redshirt sophomore but after he sits out transferring he will only have 2 at most left possibly only 1 since he redshirted.

If they transfer down a division they can play right away. Thats what Bobby Washington did this past season going to EKU

65 teams make the NCAA tournament and what 56 make a bowl...how can making the NIT be as good as a bowl?

[Edited on July 24, 2007 at 12:30 PM. Reason : V Transfer to a DII or D-1AA team]

I know what it is that you're getting at, but I can't help but point out that Amato probably created alot more good for our football program than he did bad in the great scheme of things.... I'll never be able to truly hate on the guy, even when he comes back to town with FSU; he's one of us....

These are rough approximates but there are about 330+ Division 1 basketball teams eligible for the tourney and there are about 119 Division 1A teams eligible for bowl games.

65/330 ~ 20%
56/119 ~ 47%

i'm not saying i want a bad season, but i'm saying a 6-6 season is nothing to celebrate. i'd rather just not play in any of those stupid bowls they have now and then tell people how sweet it is that we 'went bowling'

^^I don't understand your logic. I would think it would be better to at least make a bowl of some sort, even if it is lame rather than not make a bowl at all. I mean yeah, it would suck to have a Carolina fan say, "Ah ha, y'all went to the stupid Car Care Bowl!" But it would suck even more to have a Carolina fan say, "Ah ha, y'all sucked so bad you didn't even make it to the Car Care Bowl!"

^^^^Only about 60 of those 330 have a chance at being chosen at-large for the tournament. I still say making 1st round of NCAA Tournament=one of the shitty bowls like Car Care.

The side benefits of making a bowl are huge as well. The extra 10 or whatever practices, the chance to recruit where ever you are bowling at, the ability to tell recruits that we a bowl team (whether shitty or not, it's better than trying to not mention that we went 3-8), the chance for another game to add experience to the team, etc.

The idea that going to a shitty bowl is worthless is fucking dumb.

From the Charlotte Observer

High hopes

Wake Forest's surprising 2006 season demonstrated schools that aren't traditional powers can win the ACC title.

O'Brien, who named Wake Forest as his preseason sleeper team a year ago, said N.C. State will be the surprise of 2007. Why?

"I'm not going to tell you why, because I'll be giving away my hand," he said.

-T.O.B. is confident. I wonder it is that he's not telling reporters.

Also, the $$$ that the school gets. I agree that trying to argue that going to a shitty bowl is worthless is a pretty stupid argument.

His head coach (a big UNC fan) wants him to make all of his visits, Florida and Tenn are the new places.

^^^ your comment about the head coach being a big UNC fan, is it just being pissed off and searching for a reason why Manning hasn't committed yet, or do you actually know for a fact that this is the case? and if yes, how?

Elite 11 Workout No. 1
http://ssfootball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=693993

Quote :
"Mike Glennon, 6-6, 194 Chantilly (Va.) Westfield- Glennon is one of the tallest quarterbacks we've ever had at the Elite 11 and physically reminds us a little of former Oklahoma and current Utah signal caller Tommy Grady. Glennon has a nice delivery, smooth and easy and throws the skinny post and the comeback, two of the toughest throws to make, look easy for him.

"I love being out here," Glennon said following the camp. "The first thing I'm going to do is call my brother Sean (Va Tech QB) because when he was in high school, he really wanted to make this camp too but I'm the one who made the final cut.""

Why is it called the Elite 11 Quaterbacks Camp if there are actually 12 QB's there?

The area that Manning is from has been a huge pipeline for UNC for years, or so it was until Bunting did some things with Sexton that the Scotland County coaches didn't like, hence a big stud last year from SC went to S. Car. (name escapes me) when he would have most likely gone to UNC. Now, UNC has hurt their pipeline with SC (because of Bunting, and maybe because Butch is going nationwide more than NC, or that is the perception), but the head coach at SC still isn't sold on NC State, all rumors though. Manning should end up here if his criteria of being close to home and playing immediately which was quoted remains true.

^^^

^^^ why do you care if I care???

I just like having reasons to point to when I tell carolina fans or people associated with that shit hole why they and their school are a bunch of chodes. Thus, if he had somehow been able to convince me that his accusation was legitimate, I would have had a reason to care.

And yes I realize that the majority of things on message boards are bs and to take them with a grain of salt, so please don't try to lecture me on being naieve to believe everything I here on tww.

eh hem... well I think Manning will follow Maddox our way no matter what his coach says. Im sure (if that tarhole accusation is true) he's making it hard on him, but sometimes when an authority figure tries to discouragea choice you've made ~ it inadvertly causes you to want it that much more....
