I think a drop like this will many times result in a small drop the next day as well... People still will react at the end of the day to the bloodshed. If it drops again tommorrow, you might have a great deal on your hands. 1/29/2008 10:44:47 AM |

POT moves frequently, you'd better have a strong stomach, but no doubt it will be higher (as will the entire market) in 12 months. 1/29/2008 4:42:26 PM |

my finance teacher said something in class about t rowe price having the lowest no load mutual funds...he said even a college student can afford them...its 50/month...i signed up for the "balanced" one...figured balanced was my best bet 1/29/2008 5:00:34 PM |

I don't think they are the lowest. What's the expense ratio? 1/29/2008 5:02:21 PM |

i dont really know...i'm just going on what he said...he said they were the best company that offered the lowest no load mutual funds...at first i thought he said it was specifically for college students and then i asked again and he said no its for everyone....before i signed up it said you had to put either 1000 in as the initial investment, or put in 50 bucks a month...i clicked on balanced and it said like the high was about 22.xx and the low was like 19.xx
the only thing that sucks is i did some equifax thing and it asked me thiese questions and said i failed at answering them...one was about getting a mortgage in feb of 2007, which makes no sense, and another was about getting a college loan in august of 2005, which wasnt that accurate(i just do a fafsa yo)...there were 2 other questions but they were similar to the mortgage questions(mortgage question is so fucking wierd...i dont even have any credit hardly...dont have a credit card...dont know why equifax would think i'd get a mortgage)...so since i failed that, i have 30 days to mail in a check or a deposit slip...only thing that sucks about that is i still have the starter checks cause i use my debit card everywhere or cash...so now i have to go to the bank, order some checks with my name on it(dont even know how much that is gonna be, mom said around 20 bucks) and then send the shit in] 1/29/2008 5:08:05 PM |

Today is shaping up to be a wild day
Fed move on deck that I don't think anyone can really predict. I was looking for 25 bps until this morning when we got the new GDP numbers from last year, which show sharply slowing growth.
I could see 50 bps now. However, I don't see how anything less than 50 bps will satisfy the Street.
Add to that the possibility that Ambac and MBIA will be downgraded today and the weak economic data itself and I think we are in for a wild ride.
I could easily see a scenario were 50 bps from the Fed and a dovish statement lead to a 150+ point gain but I could just as easily see a bad statement and a downgrades leading to a 300 point loss. 1/30/2008 9:05:01 AM |

GOOG to report earnings today.
Thankfully I got out awhile ago so I won't be biting my fingernails today...although...it's pretty temping to get in within the next 10 minutes on a gamble that they'll do quite well.
But, if I do that, the stock will tank. So I'm going to sit on my hands and play it cool... 1/31/2008 3:50:09 PM |

When you get to the 'detailed' stock quote view, it should have news about the corporation. One headline said "Goog falls 9% after hours" or something like that.
Plus a few people on the google discussion message boards (on google finance, ironically enough) are posting the info as it happens. 1/31/2008 4:20:42 PM |
