Regardless of record I watch them every week. It got tough towards the end of the season, but I was still right there in front of the TV in my John Kasey jersey

^maybe you need to look at the back of your jersey for a correct way to spell his name next time.

I have admittedly slacked off this last year in being a Panther fan, but I consider myself pretty hardcore at times. We usually go to at least one game a year, and have mixed in a couple of away games. We drove up to Buffalo in '05, which was an experience. I also went up to Washington year before last. Both times I had food and/or beer poured on me. In Buffalo, I was tackled and flipped off repeatedly, not to mention the snowballs that were thrown at us. I wasn't about to take off my S. Davis Blue jersey though, haha. We made a 'ONE MORE YEAR, RICKY!!!' sign for ricky proehl, he saw it but didnt come back.

We were at the philly playoff game several years back

People yelled at us, but they didn't dare throw anything

That was a smart decision

for whom? Buffalo? Michael Gaines scored the GW touchdown with a minute or 2 left on a pass from delhomme. It was the shit, but we paid for it in the stands.

that game sucked, it was like 10-6 or some shit

that was one of the only passes Michael Gaines didn't drop while he was on the team

If I didn't pull for the panthers, I'd never watch thier games....they're all boring as shit

haha yeah, 13-9. Things really didn't happen at all until that last drive when we scored. I think we made one nice stand in our own end to hold them to a FG.

definitely here...i was a casual 49ers fan before we got the team but the Panthers got me hooked in...I'm more of a Panthers fan than an NCSU football fan, but some of that might also have to do with the Panthers having more recent success than the Pack

The Panthers are my team, but I also pull for P-Riv and the Chargers when not playing the Panthers. Like they'll play each other this year (wish it was in Charlotte cause I'd be all over that) and I'll pull for the Panthers even though I'm sure we'll get rocked, haha.

I think the Panthers is my favorite professional team. I've been following them since their existence. That includes watching every game since 97. I'm planning to get PSL once I graduate.

I like the schedule...the teams arent any surprise obviously but I like the makeup...we play exactly 8 games before our bye week...perfect way to disect the season...5 of first 8 games are home games...5 of last 8 games are away games, so we need to start strong

Best case scenario: 16-0
Most likely scenario: 10-6

My Predictions: 12-4 (provided Jake & Smith stay healthy all season).

^^^12-4 with the two lines this team has? No way.

Stop dreaming and admit this team will again be 7-9, 8-8, or 9-7.

I should have waited till after draft. I am assuming (hoping) we pick up a RB first RD and a OL after. I think we are due for a good season. Our WO tandem although not Pro-Bowl status will be very effective...allowing for a decent run game (esp if we get the Illinois RB (I think that is the school)). Out D is not terrible...and if O can get first down and score more often, the D will be rested. I stand on my pick but with the hope that Jake and Smitty are healthy all season. I don't really see us with less than 10 wins if they are healthy.

the matt ryan rumor...i can only guess one of two things:

- jake's recovery is not going as well as it supposedly is
- its a smokescreen to fuck with other teams and confuse them

i hope the latter

I'm not a big fan of drafting a QB in the first round, especially when there are greater needs.

I am not big on QB's in first round either...I definitely hoping that it is a smoke screen. Some good RB's and OL's out there....really wish we knew what was going on in the draft room.

Yeah, ditto. Or whatever combination of 1st rd RB/OL, 2nd rd RB/OL... gets us decent run game...
everything else should be OK assuming Jake is really rehabbing as reported...

I wouldn't mind us taking a QB most years, but none of this years class is that great, and I don't really don't like Matt Ryan.

Jake is not that good...he's a league average QB at best.

While thats 10 times better than what we had last year, he's replaceable if a better player becomes available.

In this draft, I don't see one.

I wanted the Panthers to draft Brian Brohm last year so maybe they will catch him this year!

Kid will be the best of this bunch....I don't see why other people don't see it.

^I tend to agree that he'll be the best of the qb's in this year's draft, though I don't think of any of them will be able to be "franchise qbs" but if one will be, I think it's Brohm.

Seeing as how most "experts" tend to believe that uva's Branden Albert could play OT as well as G, I think he would make the most sense at 13 for them, as the injuries that always hit their o-line would make such a versatile player quite useful to the Panthers. Plus there's a chance they could trade back into the late 1st or higher in the 2nd & grab Stewart (due to teams cooling on him due to his toe injury) or safety Kenny Phillips

Jared Allen is availble: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8043460/Chiefs

A high motor DE like this would make a BIG splash for this defense. I'd be fine giving up the #13 pick and a performance based '09 pick somewhere in the 2nd-4th round neighborhood. Then of course he'd need a huge contract, but I would be THRILLED to sign him.

Realistically though, MIN should jump all over this - it would open up a lot more options for them on draft day. I will be really pissed off if TB gets him, Allen + Adams would produce a nasty pass rush. I do not want to deal with that twice a year.

^^Interesting....but I doubt the Panthers will give up that much for him, and pay him a huge salary....they could get harvey @ 13 for less money and save a pick.

Yeah but Allen would be a PERFECT compliment to Peppers and I think Harvey will be better off at OLB in the NFL. He lost a ton of speed bulking up to ~275 lbs, I would rather we draft Phillip Merling if we take a DE in the 1st.

We'd have a ton of money tied up at DE, but wtf. I don't honestly think there's any way our FO pulls the trigger.

I have a feeling that the Panthers gonna leap frog the Broncos and trade with the Bills to the 11th spot to draft a OT (possibly Ryan Clady)
