420, you pointed out lincoln, then called me stupid bc I laughed it off correct?

Was lincoln the last one you could think off, or was Washington too long ago?

Can you seriously look yourself in the mirror and say that BHO is more qualified for president than Richardson was?

okay, or, on the contrary, I guess the [hundreds of thousands] of voters just had no idea what the fuck was going on, and you alone sit behind your computer knowing all.

You know, I think my logic makes much more sense.

Seriously, read these charts. Having decades of experience is not mutually exclusive to being a good president, this argument is tried and stupid and already been proven to be false and misleading.

I pointed out Lincoln because everyone knows who he is. I guarantee you I could have thought of more. Washington didn't really have little experience either. He was a general for like 20 years and there was no Congress or other form of government he could have been a part of before that.

Could you see Richardson as president? Honestly? He's just not a presidential kind of guy.

Kinda fell into that one terp.

420, why isnt Richardson presidential in your opinion. He clearly is the most qualified out of the dems.

Actually, I didn't fall into shit. She's obviously a good presidential choice, voted by many. She isn't MY choice, but apparently she has a shitload more support that Richardson.

It doesnt matter. You kids have your minds made up and nothing will change it. There is little objectivity here.

But if you really want to look at it. Look, not only at the years he has served, but what offices he has held and positions in congress, UN, DOE and governor.

So... wait. Let me get this refutation of eyedrb down straight. Obama is qualified because people have voted for him, Richardson was not because people didn't vote for him...

...so how do you explain McGovern?

Or, hell, let's take Dubya. 51% (or so) of folks voted for him last time, that must mean he's just as qualified as Obama might be, right? Unless "getting votes" isn't exactly as strong of a criteria for "qualified to be president" as it is being sold...

I find this very hard to believe. If you want a democrat, vote mccain. Want a republican, there isnt one running. You want a socialist, then vote obama or clinton.

Just look how far both parties have shifted left.

"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." was spoken by a former democrat. Far cry from the two running today.

Chaos, I know what you mean about the Voting arguement. I just gave up on them.

My point was showing how democrats dont want a qualified person. They want a to vote for the first________ president, and feel good about themselves.

yep terp, symbolism over substinence. That was a horrible read. Im surprised I got past the first sentence.

"What does he offer? First and foremost: his face. " lol, Id rather have Jessica Alba as president then.

What have I said to be incorrect 420. I see both as a shift toward socialism. When you look at all the handouts, wealth redistribution, socialzed healthcare.. I think thats a pretty accurate description. And Im sorry terp, that those dont give me a hard-on. They are both terrible and wrong for america.

Play the ignorance card as long as you two republicans like. It may not be textbook "racism", but its an awfully blurred line.

Its a shame he's not a War veteran, because then he would instantly be immune to any moralistic or patriotic questionableness.

"

Obviously, reading isn't one of your strong suits. The pictures were in reaction to Borat endorsing Barack in an interview.

The pictures aren't in any way racist. And in what way would they be? Making fun of his name is racist? That's not even what they are doing and even if they were, SO FUCKING WHAT? You have never made fun of or engaged in some play of words with Bush's name? It is easy to note Borat and Barack are similar sounding, and if you can't understand that it's because you are an asshole.

If you were to have read from the Democratic message board I linked to, you would have seen that most people think it's good natured humor, even DEMOCRATS.

Basically, what happened is you cried racism, like you do whenever anyone says something bad about Obama, and when you realized you were wrong you decided to to try to insult other people into agreeing with you.

And eyedrb, he may not be in lock step with what you believe, but he often cites sources and at least attempts to rationalize why he believes what he believes which puts him light years ahead of you.

You people take yourselves way too seriously. You should step back and realize that you really aren't shit and neither am I or anyone else on this board. Fucking relax. Jesus.

Substance?

I guess you could say that Obama and Hillary are a step towards socialism in the same sense Bush was a step towards fascism. But your argument loses a lot of steam when you say McCain is a Democrat. He is surely not a Democrat and just because you don't like him doesn't make it any more true.

just getting a lot of votes doesn't necessarily mean someone is a good presidential choice. unless you can stand to say that W was a good choice, considering last i remember he got quite a few votes... twice.. otherwise i'd have to call shenanigans in here.

Ha, it seems like you're projecting your own insecurities on to other people. Most of the pro-Obama people I know don't really care he's half white and aren't voting for him because of that. I don't know any hillary supporters so I can't speak for them.

I guess you argument shows though why people think republicans are backwards. You can't seem to get by hillary being a woman and obama being half black. That's fine, but don't pretend other people suffer your limitations.

420, I have jokingly called McCain a democrat mostly for his passing bills with them. I also consider him a dem bc he was agaisnt tax cuts and for amnesty. I dont consider those conservative ideals. So I "insulted" him with the dem label. LOL

Moron, you called me backward bc I dont like them bc they are a minority and a woman? I dont like them bc I think they are socialist. I dont give a damn what color or sex they are. What they say is dangerous and a terrible direction for our country. You propose 800-900 Billion in additional spending, Im going to think you are a BAD idea. You should too.

Terp, arent you a secretary? Dont comment on my job please. Would Obama take Clinton as a running mate?

^ I didn't call you backwards. I said people think republicans are backwards because they espouse to views you are espousing. Where as republican assert they aren't racist/sexist/homophobic/whatever, while still saying things that fit those categories.

If you don't want your group to be perceived a certain way, it helps not to say things that encourage that perception.

I'm glad that you don't really care about obama's race, but if this is the case, I'm confused as to why you'd assert people are only voting for him based on his race.

I think its pretty safe to say that there are people who are voting for him for exactly that reason. The same with hillary bc she is a woman. Tell me why do you support him? Certainly there are others, and probably the majority who support either for different reasons, but its a reason. He is basically a lawyer, state senator who is running for leader of the free world. Think about it.

Terp, I apologize. I thought I saw another thread where it was said you were a secretary. And shocklingly you, again, show your judgement skills to be awful, I do have a job.

This is a lame observation though, because no presidential candidate is ever the "best qualified." It's almost always the one with the best marketing/charisma.

I'm surprised as old as you are, you're just now figuring this out, but i'm disappointed you think it's exclusive to the democrats.

I know you won't believe me, but i'm not fully decided on the candidates. I just don't like to see people making baseless arguments about the candidates though.

But, Obama recently said he would have the AG review the executive decrees of Bush and throw them out if they are unconstitutional or unneeded, which I think is a great idea. It's good to see a president that doesn't try to continuously increase the power of the executive branch. He does seem a little spendy though, but that's what congress is for.

I don't even look at Hillary, mostly because I don't like the idea of dynasties in the presidency. I don't like McCain's pandering to businesses and the rich, but I do like his more sensible views of immigration policy (which i realize is tied to his pandering to businesses, but so be it), and I think he'll do a marginally better job in Iraq than either hillary or Obama. The other thing that concerns me about McCain is how he can buddy up with Bush after all the shit that bush/rove threw at him in 2000. And how he's flip-flopped from the Straight Talk Express days.

moron, how does mccain pander to the rich and businesses? You talk about baseless comments.

Look if you really think the way to get out of a recession is taxes. That raising taxes on gas companies will somehow make gas cheaper. If we can afford 800-900 B EXTRA in spending, then you have your choice, I just think its wrong.

Id love to see a flat tax or fair tax, so this BS classwarfare would end. Then, with everyone paying the bill, enough pressure would exist to CUT SPENDING.

^^ flat tax would only strengthen class warfare.

And McCain wants to make permanent the bush tax cuts, many of which benefitted the wealthy.
