well, considering Proctor is still at Jack Britt, probably not.

^^^ I don't see VT scoring 27 on our D, unless they get a pick 6 or a ST TD. our QBs seem to take care of the ball now and our special teams is pretty decent in terms of kickoff/punt return coverage. their offense doesn't usually put up a lot of points.

my experiences:
@ Wake Forest - high school football environment, never won there. no bad seats, nice fans @ Clemson- awesomeness and great fans (duh, i am one) @ VT - fans sucked, grabbed by Tremaine Hall jersey and ripped it off my back in the stands @ duke - LOL @ unc - great last year, other few times was awful @ GT - good place, nice fans @ south carolina - worst environment you will ever experience. horrible fans, stadium sucks, columbia is a shithole. @ uva - very pretty, definitely along the lines of wake forest environment, lackluster douchebag fans @ michigan - cool fans, cool stadium, but no team of mine was playing against them 4/20/2009 3:27:37 PM |

^beating duke @ duke this past season was almost as fun as beating unc @ unc. I went with a whole gaggle of duke fans, and this was when we were 2-6 and duke was like, around 4-4 or so and thought they were gonna beat us and be a win away from bowl eligibility. I loved every second of it 4/20/2009 3:34:37 PM |

The thing about this year is there are ZERO games on our schedule I deem unwinnable. Last year, I think everyone knew that Clemson and USF would demolish us. Most probably didn't think we had a chance against FSU or Wake either. This year is different.
We won't win them all though, and it's retarded to think otherwise. But if we stay healthy, I can see us winning all but two games.

as far as my away game experiences go
@ECU, very similar to state's atmosphere on a smaller scale @UNC, ehh, it was fun this past year but otherwise kinda boring @Duke, never tailgated for the game, every time i've been there have been more state fans @Clemson, incredible, the whole town explodes on game day, orange everywhere, I could see State's gameday atmosphere being like it if we were located in a small town @South Carolina, probably the closest atmosphere to state i've ever been too, lots of drunk and rabid fans, stadium off campus, columbia does suck though. @UVA, like UNC if UNC had the means to tailgate properly and not in a parking deck. @UGA, very cool, probably the best experience i've had. you can tailgate right on campus in front of halls where classes are held. We walked right through the middle of campus to get to the stadium and tents with liquor and barbecues were everywhere. I really wish we could schedule a home and away with them, despite how bad we may get beat. @Maryland, i'm not going back, fans are obnoxious and more concerned with being douchebags than the actual football game. @VT, really cool, very loud, good tailgating, nice campus, fans are similar to ours @Wake, alot like UNC fan wise, stadium is small, kind of in between duke and unc overall. @BC, never been there while a game was going on but it seemed to be in a really uppity neighborhood that wasen't tailgate friendly, visiting Harvard's stadium was cooler imo. @FSU, one of my top 5 for sure, only drawback to the atmosphere is that Tallahassee is kind of scary. @Auburn, Florida, UT, all very similar to UGA, the sheer size of Neyland was striking. All three college towns with insane tailgating and very loud during game time. 4/21/2009 12:58:54 AM |

Damn I've got to get to a game at UGA. And VT. And Clemson.
So far, I've only been to games at Wake (tiny), UNC (bland), and Duke (nonexistant). My sample size of other ACC stadiums is pretty depressing.
Although I did go to a game at App once ... kind of cool. 4/21/2009 11:03:26 AM |

I just heard that ESPN is reporting that T.J. Yates will be out for 6 weeks with a thumb injury, but will be back for training camp. I guess what they mean is he can't do the little workouts that the teams have each week. Still if it is the thumb on his throwing hand it could impact him early on in the season. 4/24/2009 11:29:31 AM |

So I went back and started looking at some of the statistics, and over the final 6 regular season games (FSU to Miami), we averaged 171 rushing yards per game. Throw in the disappointing 95 yard rushing outing against Rutgers and our average still only drops to 160 rushing yards per game. I know some people have been saying that our o-line is a concern, but I'm truly not concerned about it. I think they'll have their mental mistakes corrected come September 3rd. With TOB and Horton the o-line should end up being a strength for many years for us. 4/24/2009 10:38:30 PM |

It was indeed his throwing hand. Can't throw for those 6 weeks.
They were playing ultimate frisbee.

someone make sure this sign is red again for the game this year. its right next to a major road and perfect. They always protect the old well and all that anyway.
Better yet, they might be watching this this year. So anywhere else that visible will be fantastic.
