i have been jake's biggest supporter all year. sadly that ended tonight. not because he can't be good (he can be), but because he's prone to shitfests like we saw tonight.
you can't be an elite team with a qb who might-or-might-not suck balls on any given night.

^^^I don't think he's ever really spot on; Muhammad and Smith are just great receivers. There's a reason he backed up Kurt Warner in NFL Europe. Foreshadowing anyone?

To be fair to Delhomme i'd only say 4 of the interceptions were his fault. That is still 4 to many in my book. WTF hell
what i am curious about is why our running game was so soft last night after the 1st quarter. 1/11/2009 1:19:37 PM |

What pisses me off the most about this game is:
1. My husband and I shelled out $200+ at the last minute to attend that shitfest 2. Arizona's entire fucking offense went to the right side and our fucking defensive coordinator didn't seem to figure that shit out--I mean damn, even I saw that and in the 2nd quarter no less 3. Jake Delhomme sucked ass and was never pulled. I don't buy the "well he's the starter and he gives you the best chance to win"--it's bullshit when you're playing like that. Moore could have managed to hand off the ball 4. They continued to ask Jake to pass first instead of trying to create something with the running game 5. No double team on Fitzgerald. The entire offense was Warner to Hightower or Warner to Fitzgerald. 6. Our coaches sucked ass 1/11/2009 7:04:25 PM |

I doubt anybody gives a shit about this now and I almost didn't feel like uploading these but it was pretty rowdy in there for the first 30 minutes or so...

I say we go after Matt Cassel from the Patriots! I was huge on supporting Delhomme, but I am becoming a realist. He can't support and drive our team with hopeful throwups in double and triple coverage.

Not as tightly as he should have been. As I said, the entire fucking offense was running to the right side. Just like they knew we were looking for Smith, we should have been able to take out Fitzgerald. Without Boldin, we should have been forcing Breaston to carry the load.1/12/2009 9:49:39 AM |

^^he was double teamed, but in a soft zone with the coverage rolling his way in the first half. He lit us up then b/c we were letting him get a free release off the line to find the holes in the zone (and he doesn't need a big hole to be open).
in the second half, they switched to more of a man press approach with help deep and he had much less success. They routinely go with that soft zone approach, and it burns them almost every time.
imo, we lost that game b/c of coaching..the ball shouldn't even have been in delhomme's hands for 2 or 3 of those ints. 1/12/2009 11:18:23 AM |

He was franchise-tagged. Apparently Brady's recovery isn't going so well.
You can't cut Jake, but I don't think you guarantee him the starting spot next year. I say we draft a QB in the 2nd to 3rd round and give McCown a serious look in training camp. If Delhomme is still the best we've got, then so be it. He did take us to a super bowl.

idk about drafting one...we already have Moore. If we're gonna go young, I'd like to see him get a shot.
McCown isn't the answer
early rumors are peppers wants out and we may work some type of sign and trade like the Chiefs did with Jared Allen last year. Depending on what we would get for him, I'm not opposed to that idea. 1/12/2009 4:05:39 PM |

I'm not opposed to giving Moore a shot, and I honestly haven't seen McCown outside of a few games he started for the cards, so I have no clue his strengths/weaknesses/etc.
The thing with Moore is he sometimes makes decisions that are very Jake-like. He's definitely got a strong arm though, and can make things happen with his feet. 1/12/2009 4:29:44 PM |

True. He did look good in those games. We almost beat a Dallas team that was nasty too.
