lol the chargers need to let rivers run a 2 minute drill every time they get the ball. he moves it more than norv's plays do

Fire Norv... let an interim head coach finish this train wreck and take the next 5 month to find a head coach. New GM wouldn't hurt.

Marty isn't great, but he did a better job coaching a 14-2 Chargers team than anything that Turner has done.

Coach the defense?

Wade Phillips had a pretty good run as a NFL DC.

DC

He's pretty good at that, just making sure you weren't saying he should take over as coach. That would be just as bad as Norv.

the Chargers are finished... poor management and poor coaching.

we all hated on Eli for being a baby and refusing to play for SD but he was a fucking GENIUS in that regard. The Chargers are an organization is serious trouble without some major changes.

Rivera looks like a retard-cross eye f*ck who can't get a scheme that works
Norv has sucked since he came into the league. (since he was even born actually)

To not even try and run the ball in the 4th when you have had some success is just stupid. To expect Rivers to make a pass on every down is just plain delusional. The players don't believe in the plays being called hence their lack of effort.

What I saw this Monday night was a coach screaming for this job his name....... JON GRUDEN

here is a more compelling argument.

1st and goal at the two

run
run
run (up the gut with sproles )

FG

They have a better chance of a TD from the 20 than the 2.

^ I think it was actually 1st and goal from the 8, and LT got them to the 2 on those first 2 runs. He probably had a good chance to either punch it in or leap if they kept him in the game.

Then Sproles got stopped for nothing, of course.

The Chargers offensive line lost that game last night. They got bull rushed every play in the 4th quarter and Rivers had no chance. Gotta give some props to the Bronco defense though as they have been stout this year, especially in the 2nd half. Dumervil is basically morphing into James Harrison from last year.

I'm sick of LT. He is done and I wish SD's brass would realize this. How many times did they get him in space one-on-one with a defender last night only to be brought down? Seriously, Gates came closer to juking Champ than LT did trying to juke the rookie CB Goodman in the open field.

Other than tennis players and porn stars, running backs have the shortest career lifespan of anyone

I hope he has the good sense to bow out gracefully

For all the failing LT has done recently, he looked better last night than he has in a couple of years.

LDT is not his old self but still the only true #1 RB they have. Sproles is good for 3rd downs (but NOT third and short) and passing/draw play situations. Play both this season, let LDT walk in the offseason, resign Sproles as a 3rd down back and return man, and use a 2nd rounder on a bigger full time running back with some speed (i.e. not Gartrell Johnson). A Jonathan Dwyer type could be a good fit, or maybe Charles Scott (LSU). Gerhart (Stanford) and Hardesty (Tennessee) are other possibilities. Best and Spiller are likely to go too early unless the Chargers use a 1st round pick, and may not be the best fit since they are smallish. Also see if the Cowboys would trade Tashard Choice...

Of course it all starts with getting rid of Norv. Everything has gone downhill since Marty left, except Philip's game.

I do with they would've kept Turner over LT. Michael Turner+Sproles would've been awesome.

^^ I do agree they need to draft a RB.

But by the 2nd round Dwyer will be long gone, and Gerhart is destined to be a FB due to racial profiling in the NFL.

Easy to say in hindsight that they should have dealt LT. However, the SD management was being too loyal and should have been cold-blooded.

I bet the patriots would have had no bones about dealing a high-priced RB as soon as he hit 30. Teams would do just fine if they just had that as an automatic policy.

In some ways the LT/Turner situation paralleled the Brees/Rivers situation. Obviously LT was better and consistently better for a longer period of time than Brees, but Smith and the Chargers were heavily criticized for letting Brees go. He was returning from a significant injury without nearly the history that LT had in San Diego.

Tomlinson was the best back in the league up to the point Turner was dealt. While he was older, he was also proven and still looked fresh despite his heavy workload. Michael Turner had established himself as perhaps the best #2 back in the league, but had never been the guy. It's easy to say in hindsight they should have kept Turner but can you imagine the backlash if they let the best RB in the league walk, and one of the best players in Chargers history? I'll admit I probably would have been pretty critical.

^
More than just a RB. What if the Patriots had cut or refused to resign Brady after last year, and kept Cassell?

Chris Chambers released.

Good luck to him, but both Floyd and Nanaee(?) are much better options right now, chambers has lost his touch.
