I think the motivation factor is relevant for Alabama LAST YEAR

They are 15 minutes away from the NC game and Florida comes back and wins the SEC title game, Bama is upset, and don't get up for their non-NC game

This year they knew it mattered, they wanted it more...until they got up by 10 or so then they relaxed again

Completely disagree. That defense was definitely motivated and the whole team was playing with heart. They didn't pack their bags down 18 at the half when they very easily could. How crazy is that true freshman coming and playing his ass off against a D like that? I know this ridiculous, but think about Wilson getting hurt a true freshman Mike Glennon having to come off the bench to play like that in a huge game.
