I'm not sure anything could have been done to avoid the sack/fumble on that final drive. But there there are other things that could have happened on several plays in that drive. He didn't complete every pass. He could have gotten rid of the ball a little sooner and not taken the hit.

What about the two games before that? Would you like to pinpoint whatever play it was someone else's fault in those games?

You can nitpick all you want, but the bottom line is they've lost three games in a row with a chance to win at the end...and not exactly against the best competition. It's not all Philip's fault, but he has to shoulder some of the blame.

Drew's not having a great year. I don't know what his performance has to do with the fact that San Diego has failed to win games where they had the ball at the end of the game with ample time to score??

Rivers is 3rd in overall QB rating so far this year. He is 16th in 4th quarter QB rating and next to last inside the redzone.

He is playing great overall. He is playing less than average when it counts. The towel boy has been consistent all year long...early in the game and when the game is on the line.

ITT points only count in the 4th, and touchdowns (which Rivers is tied for the league lead in) only count if they come in the red zone.

Yeah it's a weird rule. Something about the minor injury designation means he's allowed to play again, but since he was put on IR it means he isn't allowed to play for the Chargers. So the Chargers have to release him when he gets healthy so he can sign with a new team.

They will probably release him after they play the Pats, since the Pats will be one of the teams most likely to persue him.
