Im not crying. In fact, after we lost Dixon, we beefed up our d-line by moving Smith to DE, plus Antonio Allison is back.

So instead of 235, 280, 270 and 220 on the D line, which unc mauled in the 4th quarter. We're now 235, 290, 295 and 270, which slowed down USM's running game.

Why is it that all the ECU fans think we're coming in there with a team that is going to just crumble under a visiting team's noisy crowd? yea, but ECU was favored in that game. If i remember right it was 21-0 before the offense woke up. defense made him look like a heisman candidate. i like the pirates chances better as the underdog...they shit the bed last 2 meetings as the favored team

Our offensive line is young but talented with the only starting upperclassmen being Senior Jake Vermiglio who has a lot of PT under his belt.

Our starting OL from the BC game(we're not releasing an injury report this week so I have no idea if anyone has come back or gotten injured):

LT - Jake Vermiglio(SR, 6-5, 325lbs)
LG - Andrew Wallace(RS-SO, 6-5, 304lbs)
C - Camden Wentz(SO, 6-3, 296lbs)
RG - Zach Allen(RS-SO, 6-3, 322lbs)
RT - R.J. Mattes(RS-SO, 6-6, 303lbs)

Players who have started that may or may not be back for this game and key reserve:
G Duran Christophe(RS-FR, 6-6, 287lbs)
T Mikel Overgaard(RS-JR(transfer), 6-6, 289lbs)
T Robert Crisp (FR, 6-7, 312lbs, 5-star)

Our OL was a big question mark coming into the season with the lack of experience only returning 2 starters(Vermiglio, Mattes). Those 2 are definitely key pieces to our OL. Overgaard went down early but looked promising so he could fill in admirably at RT, don't think he could anchor LT consistently. Our OL is big and strong, but young. They've exceeded most expectations, and will only get better with more games under their belts. This line has potential to be scary in a year or two barring attrition or injuries.

I'll admit I know nothing about the ECU DL, but I imagine they'll be an easier match-up than UCF or VT.

Glennon is a RS-Soph (two more years + whatever is left of this one of course, of eligiblity).

I'm most excited about the OL. Think about it, TOB hasn't been at BC for 4 years now and they still have a friggin OL pipeline to the NFL. That's what a real coach does, he implements a system and it just keeps rollin. Our line, with 4 starting Sophomores is probably already like #3 in the ACC. I'd only put FSU and Clemson ahead, maybe VT as well, but by the end of this year and the start of next season, its going to be pretty cool.

^ totally gotta disagree with you dude. VT was the only game that RW didn't have time to throw and its because they just sent so many guys.

The cincy game and the BC game, Cincy moreso, was amazing at how much time he had to throw. Even against VT, before the 2nd half adjustments they made, there were huge holes against that stout D.

i know that there will be alot of points in this game one way or another. my concern is the deep ball. i watched TJ yates overthrow 3 receivers that had his man beat by at least 7 yards. all 3 would have been easy TDs.

our OL has played very well IMO. Russell takes a lot of time in the pocket...he moves around a lot which means you have to sustain blocks a lot longer. plus, we are running the ball A LOT better than we have in the past few years.

I think ECU will hang around for a half but we will put them away in the 3rd.

I expect us to control the clock and really try to pound the ball, to keep ECU from establishing a rhythm. I also expect that to set up a lot of PA deep against an inexperienced and porous secondary. I think Owen Spencer has a huge game.

I also expect us to play a lot of 3-3-5 and press zone coverages, with one deep safety over the top. I dont think Davis is going to have a lot of time for deep drops and throws. Tenuta can be pretty creative with 3 LBs and 5 DBs...there are a lot of blitzing combinations with those athletes. We will shuffle the three DL in and out at just about every stoppage too, to keep them fresh and coming after the QB.

eh, they haven't been particularly great nor particularly bad, but even TOB said on the radio yesterday that the OL has a long way to go, and can't run block against good defensive lines, which is why we pretty much didn't bother to run against BC.
