Harrow needs to play no less than 35 minutes a game. Javi is a turnover machine and we are just a horrible team with him on the floor. 1/20/2011 7:02:55 AM |

I'm not going to say anything about the game because I'm sure it has all been said. But I have never been more disgusted with a fanbase in my life. The ONLY time we were loud or provided any energy at all was when we were in the middle of a run and cutting the score to 4 or 5 points. The moment duke would go up by 8 or 9 the entire student section would just deflate. The Student Wolfpack Club is the biggest freaking joke I've ever seen. They look like a bunch of frozen fish stacked in some chairs next to the court. "Down by 8 with 15 minutes left?! OH NO! We can NEVER come back from that. Let me just stand here with my hands in my pockets and not even make a peep." I swear we must have the lowest volume/capacity ratio of any stadium over 15,000 seats. We didn't have a single WOLF...PACK chant until 3 minutes left to go in the game. I tried multiple times to start one and people looked at me like I had leprosy. You WPC people need to get in someones ear! /rant 1/20/2011 9:41:27 AM |

These people fall down at any sort of contact and act like they are being murdered. And seriously, Nolan Smith, I hope you break your leg you pansyass. Nice freethrow fall last night. That was Oscar worthy.
Why, when Duke has so much talent, do they have to resort to soccer diving? It's a joke and the refs cater to it. Regardless, Duke was the better team last night. They outshot us and got the rebounds when it counted. I think that's what makes me so mad. The fact that Duke is such a good team but that they resort to a style of play that can only be described as "f*cking pathetic." Duke fans should be ashamed of this, not proud of it. It's an insult to the game." |

The main thing is that our scheduling for ACC season has been very rough so far. I hope that this isn't a demoralizing and damaging loss.
it is not so surprising that we went 0-3 over the past three games.

I am hearing a lot of complaints about our defense last night, and I think you guys going off memory just tend to remember the plays more because they specifically made you .
We played really good defense for the most part that entire game. there were a few lapses, fast breaks, back door cuts, open 3's, but A LOT of the shots Duke was taking (and making) were contested, difficult to make shots. I forgot who posted it, but someone said it right when they mentioned that those few possessions where we lapsed were the difference in the score, but that means we were playing at a very high level against Duke.
Our shots were, mostly, not bad. They were high percentage, mostly open perimeter shots by our guards. the post man against two and three guys under the basket is typically a basket for us, we just weren't making the scores. Add that to the fast breaks and sweet cuts we were making to the basket sometimes, and we just couldn't keep up. A couple points in the %FG column would have made that game much different, and there's nothing to do about that but let the players get more comfortable.

i can't agree with this. i saw a number of times where our guards would try to move inside, then when a hole closed up by 2-3 duke players they'd try to throw up a floater which would usually clang around and occasionally go in. the shot selection just wasn't there at those points, especially in the first half.]1/20/2011 10:53:55 AM |

Quote : | "1 The Dukies Duke basketball hasn't been a flop in the record books -- the Blue Devils won the NCAA tournament in 2001 and made the Final Four in 2004. But the Blue Devils have been a flop on the court in the most literal sense possible. This is the decade in which the word "flop" became synonymous with Duke hoopsters' overzealous attempts to draw offensive fouls. The technique drew national ire first with Shane Battier in the early part of the decade, then J.J. Redick came along with his "offensive flop," in which he kicks his legs out on a jump shot. But even Redick had to make way for the master, Greg Paulus (pictured).
