flawless gameplan and execution. totally dominated a hot and cocky UNC team. Duke will certainly be a #1 seed in the NCAA tourney now. Funny how the espn people said that if UNC blew out Duke they might be a #1 seed, well now that they got blown out, I wonder if they will slip to a #3 seed

Maryland was a 4 seed last year, Virginia was a 4 seed in 2007

Both were co-champs, though

^As a UNC fan, it seemed like the Heels were getting screwed early on. But when I saw the foul/free throw differential, I decided to shut up.

Bottom line, Duke played pretty great defense today and the Tar Heels missed a lot of shots.

Still don't see Duke going too far in the tournament. Singler blows so much.

Tim Brandt was pretty pathetic as an announcer today. I don't know how many times he got Curry and Dawkins confused. One time he said what a great game Marshall was having and then immediately talked about he was making mistakes all day.

What? How does this prove that Singler has been good this year or that Duke will make it to the Final Four this year? Again, look at Singler's FG percentage this year. As dweedle mentioned, he's solid defensively and he's a solid rebounder. I guess a more accurate statement would've been, "Singler is overrated" as opposed to "Singler blows." I was pissed right after the loss today. But I know several Duke fans who've said that Singler blows recently. He's had a pretty disappointing year.

As far as Duke, last year's team != this year's team. Lance Thomas, Zoubek, and especially Jon Scheyer were all pretty key contributors that team. They definitely COULD win it all, but I wouldn't be entirely shocked if they lost to someone like Arizona or UConn. Obviously I'm biased, but I could really see it going either way for them in the tourney this year.

my perception is that Singler started the season very strongly, and the 2nd half of the season has seen him struggle shooting from long range

if you look at his game log, he had some pretty terrible shooting games even early on

but he contributes in other ways, definitely

edit: also, you're right, his mid-range jumper is better than his three-point shot

i just know at some point during the middle of the season, i stopped being glad he was shooting the 3s and started going "ugh" .. kinda like how i always did when Hodge shot 3s

Edit: Nevermind, I see why you thought I was saying that. I was just giving two separate thoughts, that Singler is overrated and that I don't think Duke won't win it all. I wasn't saying Duke won't win it all BECAUSE Singler is overrated.
