"not really. paterno had to step down even if he knew nothing about this. if something like this happens on your watch, you step down. everyone knows this. so after the non-decision to get rid of paterno, you then decide if anyone else deserves to be fired. i think that they do, but it's not a "fire one, fire all"."

Except that didn't step down, he was fired. He was fired for not doing more than he was legally obligated to do. McCleary or however you spell his name actually WITNESSED it (unlike Paterno) and also did nothing further, so yes, if you fire Paterno, this guy needs to go too.

Hard to say how that guy didn't get fired as well, the current speculation is that he is under some kind of whistle blower protection... even though he sat on the info for nearly a decade and if I understand it correctly he didn't come forward with the info unsolicited. I think there was an investigation and they got the info out of him via a subpoena. If that's the case I'm not sure how he would have whistle blower protection.

http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/local_news/article/Penn-State-sex-scandal-reaches-S-A-2263075.php
how do you write an article about a child molester and start off with the following:
Quote :
"Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky, who caused jaws to drop in Pennsylvania and throughout college sports last week when he was charged with molesting eight boys, could end up with legal woes in San Antonio as well."

oh, and the judge in the article posted near the bottom of the last page should be kicked off the bench for an obvious conflict of interest

Taking his name off of the trophy is kinda bitchy. I mean, Paterno's hasn't been charged with anything at this point. At least wait until some of the dust has settled on this before you decide whether or not you want to go after the man's entire legacy.

Firing him was enough for the time being. Taking his name off of the trophy just because you don't want to keep hearing his name during the title game is just silly. Especially if PSU regroups and wins out (unlikely but possible).

it's perfectly normal for 10 years old to shower with a grown male authority figure and have their legs touched without any intent of sexual contact

Anyone have coaches shower with players in high school?

I had a couple, didn't think it was a big deal. They stayed at the other end of the locker room.

16 seconds to say "I'm not sexually attracted to little boys"

also, did he really say yesterday that people just misunderstood what he was doing? forgive me, but how in the heck do you "misunderstand" cornholing a 10-year-old boy in the shower? That seems to be pretty unambiguous

He was WITNESSED with his dick buried in a 10 year old's ass.

Why is this man allowed to walk free right now?!?!?!

Maybe since he didn't ejaculate, it doesn't really count. Kinda like how Clinton didn't inhale.

Nope. I don't even know why a coach would shower after a practice/game.

^^ Have you played organized sports? Coaches don't just stand there in practice. They're running around almost as much as the players. They're going to sweat, and thus, need a shower. Where they take that shower is whats up for debate here, not whether or not they need it.

even if they stayed at the other end of the shower, i'd still find it pretty creepy for a grown-man to shower with high-school kids.

^^ I think he's just used to Tom O'Brien, who DOES just stand there.

Actually, no, that's wrong, he does walk up and down the out-of-bounds line occasionally while staring at the grass.

When I was in HS we usually just went home and showered. When we did shower there, there were no coaches in there.

Even if the coach wasn't running around all over the place just standing outside in early fall or late spring for a practice will get them sweating. Especially in southern states.

I wrestled in high school and we (including the coaches) were sweaty as fuck afterwards. They never showered with us, but I wouldn't have seen anything wrong with it (nor do I now) if they had. There is a huge difference between a football/wrestling/etc coach showering with relatively grown men (15-18 year old boys) in a group setting, and a one-on-one shower with an 11 year old where playful touching is involved.

The two don't even belong in the same conversation.
