So are you saying television should only have attractive female body types? What kind of message is that sending to viewers?

I think that's the exact issue she's trying to address. Maybe you're uncomfortable viewing that body type but maybe for someone else they're uncomfortable viewing Marnie's body type. Making a generalization of what should and shouldn't be on TV based upon an ideal body type is exactly the discussion she's trying to have.

The fact that you don't like it is the reaction she wants you to have initially. At the beginning of the show everyone was like: "oh wow she shouldn't be wearing that" or "she's not attractive at all". Five seasons later I think viewers (at least myself and the people I've talked to) generally are becoming desensitized to her nudity and it's just part of her character. I think that transition was her intention from the beginning.

I'm just extremely shallow and judgmental when it comes to body types (basically fat people if you want to make it simple). I'm not going to not watch a good show or movie because of naked fat chicks...and it's not going to change my overall perception of the show either (if Hannah was a 10...Girls would still be mediocre).

But I'm also not going to say that seeing her naked doesn't affect my viewing pleasure...because it does. I cringe when I see a giant muffin top in real life...so I do the same when I see Lena Dunham in pretty much every scene of girls. There literally isn't a single scene where she isn't wearing (or not wearing) something that doesn't draw attention to her physical "unattractiveness". It's almost gotten comical.

I mean it was pretty standard quality for what the episodes have been this season, I just think as a series finale it was garbage. I've kept up with this show because I think it can be pretty damn funny at times, not for any drama and certainly not because I feel any sort of investment in Hannah's journey, in fact I'd say I've kept watching despite Hannah. The real appeal for the show to me has always been the side characters, pretty much everything I enjoyed about the show came from them, so this finale just felt completely void of everything that kept me watching to this point, and thus not very satisfying.

And the finale was fine. I don't know what you would expect.

Final season was pretty good. Elijah and Ray are fucking hilarious. Adam Driver is an amazing actor. Jessa and Shosh had their best seasons. Allison Williams is stupid hot and also plays the most annoying character ever. Lena Dunham is great...but I'm glad I don't have to see her naked for a while.

There was one episode 2-3 back before the finale where I noticed her arms looked absolutely skeletal, in an extremely unhealthy way, I had trouble even looking at them. She's always been skinny, but that was the only time that it's really stuck out in my head and made me think she might need some help

I honestly don't remember which season was which...but Jessa got a little flabby in the middle. Regardless...this last season she was easily the hottest she's been the entire series (and yes, I know they intentionally made her look like a mess when she was all drugged up and shit). ^ The fact that she was pregnant probably explains it. Doesn't really change my point...as shallow as it may be.

I'm also a fan of Shosh. Especially the more confident Shosh the last two seasons.

Clementine and Mimi-Rose should also get mentions as hot supporting characters in the show.

Well you can all breathe a sigh of relief because I'm not here to talk about the attractiveness of the females.

I just watched the whole series (Re-watched the first four seasons. I had missed the final two seasons so I got to see those finally.) I really liked the first three seasons but I think the last three became way too soap opera-ish. Like Person A and Person B are having sex but don't want Person C to find out because Person C and Person A had a thing. That happened with literally every character and I couldn't even keep track of who was supposed to be with whom by the end of it. Some of the pairings were just too stupid (like Marnie and Ray). And the whole Adam and Hannah thing for like one episode while she was pregnant was too much. I'm glad Hannah finally moved on with her life, though I'd rather have seen more from the other characters, namely Shoshanna, Ray, and Adam and what happened in their lives. I think Hannah was the worst character at most points but she had some okay moments and the show was well written enough to keep me watching. I liked the beginning where it was showing people just out of college struggling to figure out their lives and I wish it had been more of that.
