lol. Klopp may be the best hope for LFC but I really hope his system fails in the PL. We will have to wait and see. If he is a success I do have to wonder if he is the kind of guy that will stay for a while or jump ship if someone like Bayern or Real Madrid come calling.

Klopp was a perfect fit for United or Arsenal, dissappointing to see him join Liverpool as he was one of my personal favorite manager. Oh well, such is life.

I still wonder about what the current atmosphere would have been in English football had Stevie G not slipped. Would Suarez have stayed. Would Rodgers have won more PL titles. I still thank God everyday Liv didn't win it that year. Phew

Best business they've done since Suarez obviously. Fourth is wide open this year and he gives them the most legit chance they could have...

Lets see what he can do. As I mentioned it is a perfect scenario for him to come in with no expectation in a "transition" year.

I have only seen Dortmund play under Klopp in a handful of matches and while the system he used was certainly fun to watch I am not sure how well it will adapt in the PL. This is why the scenario is perfect for Klopp because he can come in and experiment to see what works and doesn't.

I think Klopp is smart enough to figure it out and adjust. A high pressing style of football that Klopp uses needs the right players. From a Liverpool perspective defensively and in the center of midfield those players just aren't there at the moment. Can is one who can step up but how will Sakho and the rest of the defense adapt? Klopp's system requires a lot of energy and a high pressing game with discipline. The PL hasn't always been kind to teams that press high unless the defenders know the system and work well within it.

It will be a good thought experiment for Klopp and certainly good for the PL to have a manager of this calibre make the competition more open. From a liverpool fan perspective you couldn't have gotten a better manager available and when his system works it works very well.

With the season so open and Klopp having no expectations I wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool does sneak into a top 4 spot, all depends on how Klopp and his players adapt quickly though. Coutinho should flourish in this system though and this may have been the perfect change for him to make the step up.

^^ See I give an honest (according to me) analysis free of bias and this is the kind of shit that gets brought up. So again, stop complaining about the lack of quality posts here when you can't add shit to the discussion. I am genuinely curious to know what aimorris' opinion is but I guess at this point it doesn't really matter. /rantover

I think the team has been underrated recently because of injuries. A healthy Firmino, Hendo, Studge, and Benteke give this team a different look for sure. I'm interested to see how he works in two strikers or if Sturridge gets pushed out wide or if Benteke gets the bench.

The best part about Klopp is he wants to play an exciting style. Rodgers' hand was forced a bit with how incredible Sturridge/Suarez were together and his recent signings and tactical changes have shown his true colors tactically.

I think the team is capable of Klopp's style and I'm especially excited to see Firmino/Coutinho under him.

Sturridge, Benteke and Ings were all out. Ings and Gomez done for the year so Sturridge and Benteke really need to stay healthy.

Things United showed me this weekend:

- Anyone that thinks Moyes didn't deserve to get fired take note of how LVG approached just the past two matches. He got it completely wrong against Arsenal and then has to go to Goodison park (where United have struggled of late) and make amends. Tactically he changes the system, dropped Blind and Memphis and brought in Rojo to add more defensive steel in the LB position (Rojo has played there before). Made a world of difference by starting Rojo, Moving Herrera to number 10, and letting Martial play on the wing. Coleman was absolutely clueless all match against Martial. Moyes would never have seen what went wrong against Arsenal and fix it so quickly.

- Herrera, my god was he brilliant in this match. Not only was he allowed the freedom to work of his wingers (Martial & Mata) but I thought it also helped Wayne Rooney up top a lot more too. Out of the players that have been at the number 10 position for United this year, Herrera has certainly been the best. Herrera and Schniederlin should have been starting at the emirates and perhaps the result may have been a bit different. If Herrera keeps this up it would be hard for Del Bosque to ignore his claim in Spain's midfield, especially if Fabregas continues to struggle. I hope Herrera finds himself starting more at the number 10 for United and makes the Euro's, he absolutely deserved to be called up in the qualifiers over the past year.

- Jones played a solid match. Having Jones really compliments Smalling I believe. It is imperative that both of them stay fit. Blind is a solid replacement but as he proved against Swansea it will be difficult for Blind to play against physical strikers like Lukaku and Gomis. Having Jones fit allows Smalling the freedom to be the ball playing defender, something I believe he does extremely well. Smalling has a terrific burst of pace when moving the ball forward, something that is very valuable to have from your center half. This is why Rio and Vidic were such a great partnership.

- Carrick I love you but the choice in the midfield two positions shouldn't be between Carrick or Schniederlin but Carrick or Bastian. Schnierdlin needs to be a bang on starter every match. Bastian is a class above the rest of the midfield so it is hard to fit Carrick into the team but there are plenty of fixtures still to come.

- Martial, yet to play a bad match for United. I don't get it, his composure is on another level. I thought he played brilliantly on the wing and added something Memphis hasn't been able to do for us aside from the Bruges match. Defensively Martial also helped more than Memphis would have. Took a gamble but it is certainly paying off so far. The ceiling is set very high for Martial.

United playing some expansive attacking football I see.

I watched maybe thirty seconds and it appeared Fellaini was the farthest forward...

In any case if you're Spurs or Liverpool you have to be thrilled with the Chelsea train wreck. One of those two nailed on for fourth to me at this point.

(As an aside, I legit forgot Pedro signed for Chelsea)

NLD sunday nym... How you feeling?

I feel like this team is starting to get momentum under Poch now and they're all buying in. This is a good litmus test to see how far they've come. That being said, I'd be surprised if they win because they rarely play well away vs Arse.

Our lineup is basically set outside of the wings. I'd like to see Eriksen/Dembele/Son get the nod there. Moussa is on fire right now.

Prediction is 2-1 Eriksen free kick winner

@OptaJoe: 10.5 - Mesut Ozil covered more ground (10.5 km) than any other Arsenal player against Tottenham. Energy.

Martial, Rooney, and Fellaini out. Wilson can't go 90 minutes.

Young plays another position as the 9. He wins a pen with an 89th minute dive for the 1-0 win.

I will take 3 points, don't really care how at this point. Hoping to see Wilson and Memphis take their chances. Glad its Watford and not Leicester this week. Hope to see Rooney, Martial, and Carrick back for Leicester.
