I have this awesomely gaudy flamingo coffee cup that I won on vacation, but I don't think it was actually built to hold anything because the first time I put coffee in it the whole bottom and sides filled with little hairline cracks and I get the same cracking noise every time I use it. Lame.

It's not gaudy or anything. It's in a beautiful guilded frame and it's just one pink flamingo in profile standing on one leg. I lurve it.

so there is this dude that i used to hang out with some...not often because he was a cow show buddy....but we always had a good time together and were pretty good friends...

well we finally got together about a year ago....and i haven't seen him since then....but we kept in touch up until about april'ish....i haven't heard anything at all from him in 8 months....


funny thing is...he's started texting me again....every night since thanksgiving


i haven't replied though, because...well...i don't really have anything to say...

i know why he's texting and i guarantee you it's not to say "hello"....which normally wouldn't matter


but this has happened several times recently...dude's that i was ALL about for a while have been popping back up and i'm pretty much indifferent when i would have jumped at the chance to talk/hang out/"other things" in the past....

i guess i really am growing up

nah i feel pretty safe really.

with elimination of contract employees, i think there's plenty of work for me to be doing that they used to do, or are doing now.

also most of the cuts will occur on the plant level in products directly tied to the automotive and construction industries.

i'm not tied to a business, as part of a corporate functionality role.

however, i wouldnt be surprised to be reassigned or put on special assigment team targeting inventory reduction or direct cost reduction.

either or i guess i'll find out

we have an emergency town hall meeting for the corporate services (captial project engineers) tomorrow.

I really love this guy

He's the CEO's gopher and he sends me an email to get me check and see if we have these tab dividers we use for submission. The stack is literally 10 ft from his office and my desk is on the other end of the building. I love him, I love him, I love him.

I should go and check them, stand right in front of his office, count them out loud, and then walk all the way back to my desk and email him to let him know we have enough.

Another funny story.

Well he's the type that can't do anything on his own (I really don't understand how he gets paid over $80k for what he does) and he's always trying to get someone else to do it for him. He always claims he doesn't know how to do FedEx and then brings me a package he's made on his own

Ok back to the story I wanted to tell....Well when i started here last year I gave him a package that was addressed to Document Services since I thought it was him. He does our technical writing/copy and pasting out of how-to books. This was last November (2007) mind you. Well I later find out the package was for our Data Management department. Two weeks ago DM comes up asking me if I had a package sitting around from last year because they desperately searched and cant find these documents they needed for a study. One lady goes in his office when he's not there and spots an unopened FedEx box. Motherfucker had it. Apparently he sat it on his bookshelf instead of opening it and giving it to the right person.
