The scary part about this schedule remaining is that we can only play ourselves out at this point. If we win out, we will be in pretty much the same position but each game we lose puts us further into the bubble.

It's silly to talk about the bubble before the season is over.

We control our own destiny.

If we somehow win out and win a game or two in the ACCT, we'll probably be between a 4 and a 7 seed.

Painter and Harris transferring have really hurt this team. Not only from a depth/fatigue standpoint which obviously appears to be an issue but also from a practice standpoint. Other teams are peaking right now and we clearly stagnated months ago.

In sports when you stagnate and other teams continue to improve all year you are regressing against the competition.

At this point we're not even a top 40 team and we'll be underdogs to whoever we play in the 4/5 game in the ACC tournament and whoever we play in the NCAA tournament if we even get in.

The REALLY sad fact is that we're now going to be underdogs against Georgia Tech next week. This is just unacceptable.

A really poor season all around. Execution has been poor, coaching has been poor, results have been poor.

we went 9-7 in the conference last year and yet were 3 points away from making the Elite 8 over the team that lost in the national championship to the most dominant college bball team in the last 5 years or so

do you guys remember when we had to win the ACC tournament just to make the NCAAs, and yet we beat a team with Olajuwon and Drexler?

Can we just skip ahead to the tournament? All we are going to learn these last 4 games is that we are good at home and suck on the road. Hopefully we can just tap dance through those landmines without fucking up so bad that we lose a tournament shot.

I guess I was blowing off a lot of steam just now, but I just want one year, ONE, where State has a better season than Duke and UNC. I guess there is still a chance of that happening by making a run in the tourney but its just so fucking frustrating.

When I watch this team I can't help but be frustrated with our 2011 recruiting class. If that class had anything functional to offer this program it would make a huge difference. Just this giant gap, and with Painter leaving the depth issues are hard to blame on Gott. Jesus that 2011 class... I can understand losing a few players to transfers etc. but to have an entire year with not 1 player on the roster... As much as 1-2 quality players can make a team, whiffing on an entire class can be just as painful.

we're 1-1 against Duke this season and 1-1 against UNC

despite UNC currently being 1 game up in the standings, and Duke most likely finishing ahead of us, you could at least argue that we're having as good a season as each of them

granted, Duke beat Louisville, overrated UK, and Ohio State, while we lost to Michigan, but we at least hung with Miami

my main point is we're a shitload better off than we were, say 5 years ago, so one loss @ UNC isn't gonna kill my hopes for this season

Thats a good point. He is a freshman, so we cant expect him to be a model of consistency

With that being said, his FT issues scare the hell out of me. He is a slasher. Slashers typically are expected to get 33-40% of their scoring from the FT line. If he can only make half of his FT's, he'll be a liability on offense
