i played halo long long ago (only time i ever played xbox) and i liked it...so i bought halo 3. I dunno, i guess i will read this thread to know whats out there.

also, i dint realize that i cannot play older xbox games on 360 without hdd (i bought the 4gb one)...i guess i will add hdd at some point.

also...netflix looks amazing on xbox compared to wii

If you are into online FPS check out the aforementioned COD Modern Warfare 2. Also look into Battlefield Bad Company 2.

I'd highly recommend Mass Effect 1 & 2, Dead Rising, Dead Space, Assassin's Creed 1 & 2, Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2 (1 is on the original Xbox but you can get it for $15 on Xbox Live Marketplace), and Resident Evil 5.

Fable is also fun to look up, and I really recommend Batman:Arkham Assylum.

Personally I would (and did) just sign up for Gamefly for a lot of the one and done titles. Saves you $ in the long haul. Anything you might play online (MW2 or Halo) its worth it to get a copy to own.

How much is Gamefly? Blockbuster Online does 1 game/blu-ray/dvd out at a time for 11 bucks a month. You also get to turn in at the store instead of mailing them back and check out a blue-ray or dvd for free.

^^can't confirm the truth to this rumor, but I've heard Netflix and Gamefly have a contract where Netflix can't rent games and Gamefly can't rent movies...dunno the validity, but thats the word

Pretty new to the "ultimate edition" idea, and was thinking of picking up Dragon's Age Ultimate Edition when it comes out next week.

How does that work? I typically use goozex or buy my games used...do these ultimate editions simply have codes for the DLC packs they include? Or is there a separate pressed disc that can be used multiple times on different consoles?

^^ Depends on the game usually, but I think I read that you just get the DLC codes and probably the original game-disc. DA:O had alot of released content and I think you'd almost have to have it on 2 discs in order to get it all in (360 wise anyway)

Got the 360 interface update. This shit has put graphics back 10 years.

Downloading the ESPN...app?...and going to see if it works

Confirmed that ESPN3 does not work with TWC internet only . App still plays the ESPN channel

Not many of the avatar items I have downloaded are working either...lots of bugs with this update. It's really sad seeing as how I have updated my PS3 I don't know how many times and 9/10 (I say this just because of the netflix app update a few weeks ago)time it is flawless.

i just watched the highlights of fsu/ncsu on the espn app...pretty disappointed in the video quality...it was just like a small sized video blown up to full screen, so it looked pretty bad.

if that's how the live sports are going to look, then this app isnt even as good as plugging in your laptop to tv via dvi input.

I like the new graphical style... shaper corners, clearly-defined boxes, all that stuff...
I'm just glad I'm using a downloaded background, because with the default green and white background behind the new boxes, it's much harder to tell what you're looking at.

But again, I mostly like the change. I miss the overlapping/cascading/whatever tiles that allowed you to see most of a section in one glance, but the update isn't bad.


Although, given the darker tones of a LOT of games, pressing the middle-button in-game and seeing a stark white box is a bit odd. The grey-ish box definitely fit into its surroundings better.

My Kinect is taunting me from my desk. And I probably won't even be able to set it up until late tonight.

Also, WTF Target? They were pulling copies of Dance Central off the shelf and refusing the sell them. Said something about a recall. Gamestop said they'd hold a copy for me so hopefully they won't pull them before 4:30 this afternoon.

Someone please tell me NHL '11 isn't as bad as I thought it was after playing it once last night. It felt like every hockey game ever made (nothing has ever been as good as '93 or '94 nhlpa on sega). I'm assuming Career modes and whatnot are at least somewhat entertaining?
