^I was always told (by my #source...who maybe knows what he's talking, definitely is in a position to know, but is also maybe full of shit too) that Gott had/is currently having (not sure) an affair or whatever...but definitely not with Corch's wife.

And to be honest, logically that makes sense. If Gott has a side chick, why would Corch still be so involved with the program and close with the program...clearly he would be aware of those rumors.

yeah that's pretty good company. Gottfried is a good coach - as it has been said a quadrillion times, if he could implement a good defense, he might be an elite coach. but that's pretty much his only flaw, he seems to excel in most other areas

on the subject of what he could improve, i'd like to see all of our players become automatic from the free throw line, as i remember us being under herb. otherwise, yeah, defense could improve. no other major complaints.

I thought I read somewhere one year that Gottfried required every player before they left practice to hit 10 free throws in a row. Sounds like he knows it's an area where we need to improve, but he could certainly do more.

Defense is a problem but the main thing is not just getting players to commit but actually keeping them. Most of our best players have quit the team prematurely which sord of negates the recruiting success.

Cant really blame him fully for lowes guys but his best class took 3 amazing talents and somehow managed to let all 3 of them down before jr year.

So per Earl logic, it is Gotts fault that TJW got drafted by the Suns instead of the Cavs. Makes sense. If TJW was on the Cavs, he would be getting more minutes than Joe fucking Harris. Harris only plays because the Cavs depth sucks and he is a "defensive stopper" for them.

Plus TJW is making more $$ than Harris so I think most guys would prefer to play for the coach that got them drafted higher.

Could not convince TJ to stay rather than play in the "NBA" whatever that is.

Drafts are based on potential. Tjw has and had that higher potential long before he came to state. Playing time is based on right now. We can speculate all day about who would do what in the hypothetical event they were on different teams but all we can really go by is what has happened. College ball is important in developing defensive skills and 3 point range. One player came to the nba with them and plays because of it. While another came to the nba wo them and spent some time in the d league because of it. Those are undeniable facts that you can digest however you choose.

Maybe it shouldnt be on the coach but having 5 guys with this type of potential in your program and 3 in the d league plus 2 transfers is pretty hard evidence to twist.

Who said anyone should be fired? Somebody put those words in my mouth but that doesnt mean we cant give criticism where its due. Some people act like a coach can either be perfect or deserve to be fired. Those are the two extremes but theres a huge middle ground in this pyramid.

I doubt its true and havent followed cuse recruiting close enough to know how most of his mcdonald all american type players have ended up. All I know is warrick anthony waiters more than make up for the guys you listed while gotfried is literally 0-5 with elite players here. Theres no player we can point to and say that guy had sucess. Why cant you simply acknowledge that as a huge flaw of his?

Every coach has at least one flaw. Most everyone acknowledges defense as a flaw but then act like recruits read this board and admitting gott is bad with something related to recruiting will hurt our team.
