^^^seems like the process is working fine. Companies are filing exemptions trying to claim they cannot obtain the steel and aluminum products domestically, and USS and Nucor are responding individually to each exemption explaining how the product being requested is available domestically and the manufacturer is just trying to bullshit their way around the tariffs. Cronyism would be allowing exemptions to the tariffs even after steel suppliers claimed that the product was available domestically.

I mean.........possibly, you could be right. The opposite could also be true and Nucor/USS have undue influence on the process. A FOIA of all communications between commerce should shed some light. If I’m betting lafta bucks, I’m going with the latter all day.

At a minimum the process seems to need more transparency and waiver applicants should get a chance for rebuttals to the public comment period.

Congress impeaches

It’s only a “norm” that a president steps down for impeachment, Clinton didn’t because the charge was for lying about a blowjob which is kinda lame

Trump’s charge will be much more serious, but he still probably wouldn’t step down at this point

Does Congress have to then hold a trial? What happens if trump is found guilty? Trump’s best case is congress finds him not guilty

Probably what should happen is Trump steps down and Pence pardons him, in which case trump probably goes completely nuts.

How is something that’s never happened a norm? 2 presidents have been impeached neither stepped down...

And yea if impeached the next step is the Senate trial where you can be removed from office. Pence would take over and pardon him but none of that will happen. If Mueller found something big Trump steps down claims it’s for the good of country and just a giant witch hunt all along. Pence then pardons the gracious Trump who makes billions selling Trump crap to his base.
