ok i have several apps on the app store and they were getting steady downloads for the past 6months daily at a very reasonable rate.

7 days ago, they literally stopped getting more than just a couple each a day which is a HUGE dropoff. WTF is going on at the app store??

are keywords broke? did they redo the app search engine again??

^ so ... do you know WHY you were getting lots of downloads on said apps? Did you have a website that was sending lots of people to your app store page? Did you show up for certain keywords on the app store search?

Probably hard to find out why your sales dropped off if you dont know why you had sales in the first place. People dont really browse into your app by chance, since there are 100k apps out there. Something had to be driving them there if you actually had significant sales.

Yesterday my jailbroken 3gs crashed and got stuck in a reboot cycle. I restored it with iTunes and now I can only get edge internet. If I enable 3g it gets no Internet service despite having 5 bars of signal strength, if I disable 3g edge comes on and works fine. What's really wierd is that Internet tethering still shows up as an option under network. I had tethering setup before the crash bit I don't understand how it's still there after the restore.

Anyone have something similar happen? I'm hesitant to take it in to the genius bar since Internet tethering still shows up.

3g network issues in Raleigh. Also reported on WRAL before people start posting that their 3g isn't working.

A international data roaming question. I know visual voicemail uses data. Is there a way to turn that off? I want to be able to check emails if i have to, but i don't want voice-mails to come through and charge me out the ass.

^Settings->General->Network->Data Roaming

should be off by default though. If you have no data your visual voicemail won't work and instead you'll get the 'call voicemail' button.

That's what i thought, but everywhere i could find online says it bypassed that and went to your phone anyway.

^that's a good idea. SBsettings can turn off 3g. I don't know about completely turning off data. Although i just talked to someone on ATT website and they said turning off data roaming WILL turn off visual voicemail (it didn't use to).

The only problem is if i have to check my email then turning data roaming back on will automatically download all the voice mails. But i did learn that if you had data roaming turned off, and wifi turned on. Then visual voicemails will be sent through wifi. Thought that was cool.

EliminatePro is free and is both online and offline. If you like first person shooters its worth checking out and its fun.

kind of tying my hands with the 'free + offline' requirements

Found it. Had to add the toggle for edge. Never needed to completely turn off data. So i turned off both 3g and edge, and turned on wifi and left myself a message. The voice-mail was transferred over wifi. Sweet. So now i can get voice-mails for free without having to turn on the phone or data at all.

Just unlocked it too. Anyone know how cheap the sim cards are in the vending machines? If they're relatively cheap i could just do that and not even have to hassle with AT&T.

-damn check out rates:

http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/sim-only-plans/all-sim-plans

only £20/month for unlimited texting/internet/600 minutes.

I have an annoying issue with pdanet. I have pdanet installed on my netbook for use with my iPhone but whenever i'm using wifi and not pdanet i get a "error connecting to pdanet modem" until i connect to wifi and cancel it. I think firefox is defaulting to looking for the pdanet modem. Anyone else notice this?

HALP!

My battery is losing it. Just this morning it has started draining like crazy. As I waited for TWW to load just now, it dropped from 58 to 33%!!! WTF is going on? I've shut down and reset (home + power buttons), nothing has changed. I checked for an update but there is none. I can literally sit here and watch it go. I don't have bluetooth on or wifi.

Now it's 30%

should I call AT&T or apple tomorrow?

oh i forgot to mention that it's not running hot (temp wise).

i got it in july. it's a 3gs. not jailbroken. nothing running in the background except for gmail as far as i'm aware. it died completely sitting there doing nothing overnight. it charges WAY faster than normal too. it went from 0 to 48 in 10 mins.

the only apps that are newish (DLed late last week) are pandora and that 33rd division. snaptell crashed twice last night, but that was way after this started.

after work today i'm going to try a restore. i'm in rocky mount so it would be friday afternoon before i could stop by the genius bar. any ideas as to what else i can do in the meantime and why this might be going on are GREATLY appreciated!!!

what about those memory clear apps? when i synced up last night it cleared out all of the "other" orange stuff on the hard drive.

i left my phone at home this morning and picked it up over lunch. i went through and removed all apps that do any sort of notification, turned off push, wifi, and 3g. reset. it still drained like a bitch while doing nothing. i watched it go 100, 98, 97, 96, 94, 92...

i deleted my gmail (only account), and it stopped...

i watched it for a while and it held steady at 90. i added my gmail account back, and it started dropping again. i deleted it again at 85 and it's holding steady there again.

wtf mang this aint right

i'm still going to try the restore tonight. if this doesn't work, i'm going to apple. what can i do about my zagg invisible shield though? it was $30 and i've only had it for about 6 weeks. you can't peel that off and stick it back on a new one will they buy me another?

I was just taking a jab at google...but seriously it might just be that your phone is some how locked in a constant 'fetch' mode with your mail...regardless if its google or something else. If thats the case i'd say thats a software bug.

Something similar was happening to m periodically while my phone was jailbroken. Unrelatedly it crashed and got stuck in a reboot cycle forcing me to restore. I haven't had any issues since.

are you using the push for gmail or regular imap?

i tried using push gmail yesterday and it absolutely drained my battery, probably in a few hours. i charged it up again and by lunch today it was already dead.

im going to set it back to imap and let it check itself every 10 minutes or so. with that ive never had any battery issues.

^^Push gmail hasn't been working for me for about the last week.
^ if you're going to use imap for gmail it's better to configure manually and take advantage of The trash button archiving instead of deleting, google has device specific instructions somewhere.
