our defense still isnt good. the stats are skewed a bit right now based off playing two teams filled with midgets in charleston southern and wofford back to back while having anya who to them is like a 7'8 version of shaq

once we get to acc play we better step up on offense like we did last year or this team is NIT bound. the way we did that last year was to have warren take all our shots. someone send lacey the pitt and bc tapes

How are wvu fans trashy? I've been to plenty of their games and they aren't that bad. You probably got mixed with a bad group. Kind of like the state fans that defended booing an injured player. Every fan base has their assholes.

So if Gottfried is to blame for not "drilling" on the press, is Kevin Ollie also a shitty coach since UCONN had about the same number of turnovers when they played (and lost to) WVU?

It would have been an upset if we had beaten these guys and with 5 minutes left, we were within 1. Yeah, it's disappointing, but you fellas need to adjust your expectations if you are seriously pissed we got beat by a better team (at this point in the season).

Some people in the thread were thinking that WVU was worse than us and that they shouldn't have been ranked. It's pretty easy to see the over-expectations by fans. Looking at the rest of our schedule I'm not too happy with our record so far, but I think we've done better than the talent on our team.

You're kidding right? They have a solid team and great depth, and they without a doubt have a much better coach. I honestly can't see anyone on our team taking one of theirs. Maybe Anya because of his stature, but we are not strong enough or physical enough to compete with WVU.

I don't know if it's a coaching thing or a college basketball philosophy but it's like only one or two players may dribble past half court. If you're abig, thou shalt stand in place and pass to a guard as quickly as possible.

These three, four star players know how to dribble, some better than others. Surely they can dribble fifty feet and use their height to pass over the double team and allow the guards to break towards the basket. Presses doesn't happen much in pros because the players are good enough to eat you alive if you try.

It was frustrating listening to Bobby Knight because every shot is a bad one if you're not set. Trust the talent to use their athleticism.

Lol someone is butthurt about the loss. I'm saying it's amazing that we even kept the game to 14 points considering how good they are (plus they beat the defending national champions in the Puerto Rico tip-off). So, I'm actually pretty happy about how well both of my teams did!

WV is solid, no doubt. Statistically, last night was one of their best offensive games of the year. They're a fringe top 25 team and were favored to beat us. But I don't necessarily think they're significantly better than us. This was a one point game with like 5 or so minutes left.

They cannot dribble. Our guarfs cant even dribble against pressure so of course our bigs cant. Abu couldnt keep the dribble below his head and washington kept jumping to pass. Cat cant pass out of a double team and cant back dribble to create space as one approaches. Balls are constantly slapped out of our guys hands evem anya because they havent been coached to hold it tight. These are all jv high school level mistakes.

Im also a coach and share some of knights perspective whe. Watching our games. Should help explain why im so critical. Our team takes all bad shots because there is no point guard or disciplined offensive system to create easy shots. Turner and lacey are just so damn elite that they can score efficiently on bad shots over good defense. They have no other choice either. Lacey is almost perfect and would start on all but a few teams.
