Had us rolling at some points tonight but our players made some really boneheaded turnovers. The defense where anytime they screened our big men would stay on their guard and our guard went in the paint could be one of the worst defenses I have ever seen. Their big man took it to Cat easily on this on a play down the stretch in the 2nd half.

Our screen defense is the worst in the history of the NCAA. It makes no sense, and it is the sole reason Gott sucks at defense.

If we simply hedged hard, the same way other teams hedge on Lacey or Cat, we would be a top 25 defense every year.

What we actually do is the worst possible option in any situation.

um what? ^ even after the game he talked about how well they executed, which they did. That little change of momentum came from turnovers, not from our lack of defense.

Didn't like the switching on screens in the 2nd half. At the same time, we didn't switch on screens in the first half and they hit like 7 or 8 threes. I understand the switch, but didn't think it was the right choice.

Coaches aren't perfect. At the same time...we missed a ton of bunnies and wide open threes and made some stupid turnovers. We play an average game and we win. So I'm not too upset.

Clearly we enjoy the excitement every year of being on the bubble and never knowing if we are gonna get in. There were a few make or break games on the schedule and this was one of them. ND becomes an almost must win now unless we plan to beat a Carolina or Louisville down the line and not lose any WTF games.
