yeah, i feel like SBFing is like when I kept trying to learn poker...unless i played for like a week straight I could never remember the rules
i almost bricked my phone the last time i tried to SBF it, but now that Verizon has on file that I got their OTA gingerbread update, i can probably root again w/o getting on their mysterious list of rooted users (what are they gonna do w/ that anyway)
[Edited on June 14, 2011 at 5:56 PM. Reason : of course i have learned poker by now at least though lol] 6/14/2011 5:48:54 PM |

^^^^^^^My favorite browser for Android is Opera Mobile. The main reason for this is that it is hardware accelerated, and therefore runs a 60fps a great majority of the time. All the other software-rendered WebKit browsers usually degrade to 30fps on all but the simplest pages. 6/15/2011 5:43:48 AM |

Quote : | "I must be doing something wrong...I've tried to install a Sense ROM back on my Evo 4G (after going to CM7), and everytime after I reboot (immediately following installation), my phone just stops on the white Evo 4G screen. I've let it sit there for 15+ minutes, pull battery and try again etc, but it's always the same result of freezing on that screen. The 3 Sense methods I've tried are:
1) Download a stock Sense ROM from the Cyanogenmod? wiki site 2) Select restore to factory in clock recovery 3) Use ROM manager to install Fresh
I've tried wiping cache, no help. Luckily I'm using Nandroid to go back to CM7, but it's still kind of a pain.
What am I doing wrong? " |

So I'm thinking about buying a tablet today for my birthday next week. I am down to the ASUS eee Pad Transformer, Acer Iconia and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Right now I think the 10.1 is in the lead because of the weight factor and I just like the looks of it. Does anyone have any of the three and what do they think of them? 6/17/2011 8:47:53 AM |

you may be safe as long as you're already on an unlimited 3G plan assuming their sources are correct.
Quote : | "*Note 1 – We have also been told that this is for both 3G and 4G smartphones and that there are not separate plans depending on device. So if you are under contract currently, you should be fine and don’t need to run out and buy a 4G phone just to lock in as we’ve seen other sites seem to want to suggest.
*Note 2 - And I should probably clarify that these new prices should not affect anyone that is currently under contract. Major changes like this concern only new customers and possibly those that are up for a renewal. We have even heard mention of current customers being allowed to upgrade to a new device after July 7and continue to keep their unlimited data, but are awaiting further clarification on that." |

the way that reads it says new customers and possibly renewals. better to upgrade before july 7th than find out on july 8th that you missed out. that is unless verizon specifically says renewals are safe but even then i would need to hear a renewal from 3g to 4g is still covered. 6/20/2011 1:19:57 PM |
Senez All American 8112 Posts user info edit post |
the problem w/ upgrading is you can choose to go with a newer 3G device and be stuck on that tech. or go with one of several half-assed LTE devices they currently sell and be stuck with that.
or just pay full retail and be out $500-700 6/20/2011 2:20:01 PM |

I'm under contract with unlimited data for another 18 months or so
At that point, I'll probably see how much data I use over the air versus over wifi, and if its less than 3 gigs a month, I'll just switch to the 2GB/$20 plan...if its more than 3 gigs a month, I'll switch to Sprint 6/20/2011 2:28:18 PM |

I called verizon and they confirmed you can grandfather unlimited 3g to unlimited 3g, unlimited 4g to unlimited 4g, but would be unable to grandfather unlimited 3g to unlimited 4g...even though theyre the same price. While I more than understand the logic there, its some real bee-ess.
