by coming in cold, i'm talkin about the fact that other coaches have been evaluating and contacting these kids for years and he had to play catch up in that respect. his nba connections have helped out a lot, but he's still had to make up a lot of ground in the first years. i think you get where i'm coming from though.

I dont have a premium rivals membership, so I couldnt read that article, but how likely do you think it is we offer Richardson? What'd he think of the uv?

Javi played very well for us at the end of last season. I don't see how anyone can deny that.

My only concern is that he got better at the end of the previous season as well, then came into last year looking completely lost. Granted, there were some extenuating circumstances there, but still it's something that needs to be watched for.

Statistically he had a couple of good games early on. I really think he will be much better in a more up-tempo offense. He seemed to like to push the tempo a lot more than our other guards did.

farnold likes to push the offense just fine, problem is he's terrible at it.

even when javi is going "good" he is still a massive TO threat that is a complete drain on our offense. look at that kenpom link...37% of his possesions end in turnovers. That is unacceptable. Look at all the other PGs in the ACC, theyre in the mid 20s. Again, he looks good in comparison to garbage like Farnold. That doesnt mean he's good

Once again, if you would have watched, a ton of his TO's are from other people screwing up. He can still be careless -- he was bordering on showboating early on in the year -- but he progressively got better about this.

i wouldnt say a "ton." maybe like 1 TO a game was due to stupid shit like Ben being a pussy and never wanting to break for a wide open jam (bc his slow ass wouldve still found a way to get blocked probably) but way more of them were him getting pick pocketed in the backcourt or making dumbass passes into the 2nd row

Summer school probably starts as quickly after the end of the school year as possible.

fuck, I just realized that gunzz meant high school summer school not summer session at State. Dammit, I hope Brown can catch up quickly when he gets to Raleigh.

you people realize he means HIGH SCHOOL summer school right? That means Brown won't be on campus until the Fall semester, it's not a good thing.

^true, but obviously it would be better for him to get here during the summer...I just don't see how you could view him having to take summer school to qualify as a good thing.

that means that he still has a chance to qualify. if he had to go to prep school, he wouldn't bother with high school summer school.

he's not missing any practices, he can work out on his own, and if he takes care of school work, he'll be here in August. that's why i think it's a good thing.

I think a lot of us were under the impression that there was no question that he would qualify, at least until a few days ago.

it's better than him not qualifying at all, but was anyone really thinking he wouldn't qualify at all? I certainly wasn't and I keep up with recruiting pretty regularly.

^ that's almost too dumb to respond to, who the fuck said anything about firing Sid? All I'm saying is that acting like it's great that Brown has to take summer school to qualify is ridiculous.

yeah, it seemed like it was kind of up in the air as to whether he would have to take summer school because he was trying to make up work for the class and the teacher was being a bitch. But I didn't think we knew for sure either way.

It sucks that he didnt graduate.. but the reason was because of basketball travel put him extremely far behind in one class (not that its an excuse.. but the way the current high school "star" player sports are, every top prospect does this) and the teacher had some problems with it. Thus he takes the class this summer.. comes here in the fall like pretty much every other NC State student... and life goes on

Not a big deal, not GREAT def, but not a big deal at all...

it's a pretty big deal, actually. assuming that he is here in the fall, we're going to need him badly. missing summer workouts and pickup games is really not good.

i'm sure he will keep up on his game... get the playbook, and learn the offense... I mean, yea its a deal, but damn, its a hell of a lot better than if he wasnt eligible this year

yeah, but you can't say it's not a big deal at all. especially considering that we need Brown to be ready as a freshman if we're going to be any good.

fuck it. let them have Leslie, another underachieving post player can go choke in the postseason and have an unremarkable NBA career as far as I'm concerned. I hate ASU more than many of you can imagine, and it won't be long until Sean Miller makes everyone forget about the scum devils and their "resurgence".
