On an episode in west wing, they had one with a surprise result for an election.

It was supposed to go to a republican, but they said "democrats & die hards vote early", then during the evening there was alot of rain, so it helped swing this fictional election.

At my polling station today, at 6:30 on my way to work, there were tons of democrats, and on my way home from work, it was raining, as it is over much of NC right now.
