the elevation isn't that high up here; probably around 1000ft or so. sitting in a car all day long and driving didn't help much either.

a guy I work with got assigned to a project in Arizona at an altitude of 8,000ft, and he got used to working out at that height. When he came back here he could run a mile about a minute faster. he also blew out his ACL within a month of coming back. I don't know if the two are related.

I'd rather train at sea level in a warm, dry environment.

no, I meant dry. it's hard to lift heavy in a humid gym environment. I've had trouble catching my breath after a heavy work-set in Orlando before.

I ought to start supersetting arms again. it's a great ego boost to walk out of the gym with 21 inch arms.

you should; you throw shot put. the arms fatigue quicker and rebuild faster than the chest and back are capable of, so having a day dedicated to them can help.

^i make sure i get a good calf day whenever i have chest days and then i do a lil extra when i do leg exercises (everything i've read says that those are the hardest things to train just because they are used to repairing themselves pretty damn quickly)

what are you currently doing for them? those muscle groups are so big I wouldn't try to train them more than once a week. part of that is because you're probably like me and only do heavy squats and front squats for legs, and both of those target the lower back as well. the lower back usually takes around 7 days to repair itself, and overtraining the back can be disastrous.

I usually alternate weeks with squat day and deadlift day, and I do good mornings on squat day and the leg press on deadlift day as a secondary exercise.

I also don't think it's necessary to do arm exercises after doing heavy compound motions like bench press, weighted dips and chinups, bent over rows, etc. the arm muscles are much smaller than the chest and back, so why would you isolate them after a compound movement exercise? they heal faster, but they also fatigue faster and can't keep up. personally, I have to limit my volume on the bench press not because of my chest fatigueing but because my triceps and front deltoids give out after a few heavy sets. My biceps do the same thing when I go heavy and to failure on bent over rows.

I might have overdone the cardio today. Feeling light-headed when you leave the gym is no good.
