In general stouts and porters. Murphys and Guinness are pretty good for store beers. Hoegarden is also quite tasty. Yuengling if I want to go cheap. 4/21/2008 9:21:56 AM |

OK, so how about some advice?
My favorite (and only) beer is Killian's. I just started drinking it in January, but so far it's the only one I can tolerate. I want to broaden my beerizons, but don't know where to start. Any suggestions of other beers somewhat similar to Killians?
BTW: so far I've tried Yuengling, Blue Moon, Sam Adams Boston Lager, Bud select...and they were all pretty gross to me. Couldn't tolerate more than a couple sips.

^^^^ Smithwicks is an irish style lager. guiness is a good dark beer. try Hoegarden, a very tasty lager. corona extra (with a 1/8 slice of lime in it) is also very good. those are some standards. try going to total wine or trader joes and making a custom 6 pack of things you think you might like. try lagers, ales, IPAs, ESBs, stouts, bocks, etc.

it is now battlefield bock, which i haven't had yet. I never liked battlefield black, but I hear from people who have similar tastes as me (who also didn't like it) that this new stuff is better. It's also higher in alcohol

So if it's hoppy, you don't like it...but if its ultra hoppy you do? Or, am I getting my terminology just completely fucked? I guess I don't know what the difference in a 90 min, 120min IPA is. Is it the alky content, in which case your comment would make more sense.
