My roster from my draft yesterday:
QB- Carson Palmer RB- Frank Gore RB- Clinton Portis WR- Reggie Wayne WR- TJ Housh WR- Hines Ward Def- Miami K- Sebastian Janikowski
BN- Jon Kitna BN- Cedric Benson BN- Deshaun Foster BN- Jerico Cotchery BN- Braylon Edwards BN- Ronald Curry BN- Green Bay BN- Josh Scobee
I had a very good draft....only had one screw up. I could have had Marshawn Lynch instead of Foster, but I thought he was gone already. Only have 2 kickers b/c we have to, and tight ends are grouped with WR's.

heres my draft from yesterday...12 team league...no points for completions or receptions
4th and a MileView All Round Pick Player Position 1. (2) Steven Jackson RB 2. (23) Chad Johnson WR 3. (26) Edgerrin James RB 4. (47) Andre Johnson WR 5. (50) Jamal Lewis RB 6. (71) Kellen Winslow TE 7. (74) San Diego DEF 8. (95) Matt Leinart QB 9. (98) Brandon Jackson RB 10. (119) D.J. Hackett WR 11. (122) Santonio Holmes WR 12. (143) Leon Washington RB 13. (146) Green Bay DEF 14. (167) Mike Furrey WR 15. (170) Jeff Reed K
should i drop leon washington for anthony thomas? a few notable free agents out there are anthony thomas, steve mcnair, michael pittman, correll buckhalter, trent green, kevin faulk...any moves i should make or sit on this lineup at least for the first week? 9/5/2007 10:15:29 AM |

I would probably leave your roster as is for the time being. Only change I could see would be adding a backup QB(I would pick McNair over Green).. Not sure who you'd drop. Probably GB Def.
I still have a plethora of RB's from the ridiculous ESPN auto draft. Nobody is biting on trade so I'm going to just have to hope some RB's get hurt in the first few weeks. In the meantime who do I start this week? Start 2: Brian Westbrook @GB(definite starter) Ronnie Brown @WAS(Leaning towards for 2nd RB start) Cedric Benson @SD Chester Taylor vs. ATL Marshawn Lynch vs DEN Ladell Betts vs. MIA DeShaun Foster @StL Brandon Jackson vs. PHI 9/5/2007 10:27:36 AM |

^^I can't believe whoever drafted westbrook didn't get buckhalter too....he could be really valuable down the road as it seems everyone is banking on westbrook getting hurt this year.

^^i say westbrook and brown...brown is about the only other choice who's not going to be sharing a big load...he'll be starting RB, third down RB and goal line RB...and he's healthy...gotta play him...also washington's defense is supposed to be horrible this year

Thanks, thats what I was learning towards. 2 more questions. The AutoDraft screwed me at QB and I got lucky and got Garrard in FA right after he was named starter. Start 2: Chad Pennington vs. NE Rex Grossman @ SD David Garrard vs. TEN
I know its a horrible situation. Nobody is biting on trades yet. Been trying to get Leinart for Chester Taylor and Cedric Benson.
Also who should I start at 3rd WR spot(Terry Glenn would normally start there but he's Q): Santonio Holmes @CLE or Chris Chambers @ WAS 9/5/2007 10:38:57 AM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148450 Posts user info edit post |
i would probably say Garrard and Santonio
Grossman is going against a good SD defense and Pennington a good NE defense...Tennessee isn't as strong
Chambers or Holmes could both have pretty good games, and both against below average defenses...I just think Roesthlisberger and Holmes already have a year of good chemistry...I think Chambers and Green still have to work it out...also Holmes had a few hundred more yard than Chambers last year...lots of people are saying he might have more yards than Hines Ward this year!
also is culpepper available in your league? i have him as my backup QB in another league...who knows how he'll do but i think he's gonna have a solid year...dont forget he was one of the top fantasy players a few years ago with minnesota, and if he can stay healthy he is a nice pass/run dual threat...course thats assuming he's available

Na someone picked him up the first round of Waivers. I got lucky with Garrard. Another guy in my league was 1 on the waiver wire and got Leftwich first. Next day Garrard was named starter so I picked him up on FA. Only 2 starters left on FA are Charlie Frye, and Tarvaris Jackson 9/5/2007 10:47:46 AM |

pick two RB:
Travis Henry (current starter) Thomas Jones (current starter) Fred Taylor Lamont Jordan Vernand Morency 9/5/2007 10:51:16 AM |
bkhardee All American 985 Posts user info edit post |
I would leave it. Although I do think Lamont will have a pretty good year
Last question. My TE is Dallas Clark. Should I pick up Jason Witten on FA and drop Clark? 9/5/2007 10:54:08 AM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148450 Posts user info edit post |
^^I'd say Henry and I'd probably take Jordan over Jones this week, just because New England's defense is strong and Detroit's isn't...although Henry and Jones wouldn't be a bad choice either
Morency might not play week 1 and if he does he'll be splitting carries with Brandon Jackson against a pretty good Philadelphia defense...Taylor is going against a bad Tennessee defense but sharing carries with Jones-Drew
^i say yes...if Witten is on waivers I'd take him over Clark...Indy has so many weapons like Marvin, Reggie, Addai...even Utecht could get some TE catches
Witten and Clark both went in the 7th round of my draft...Witten a little higher...but I definitely like him over Clark simply based on # of weapons on each team

my starting lineup for week 1:
QB - Peyton Manning QB - Daunte Culpepper WR - Marques Colston WR - Hines Ward WR - Isaac Bruce RB - Ronnie Brown RB - Reggie Bush W/R - Ted Ginn Jr. TE - Vernon Davis
BN Julius Jones Kevin Faulk
K- Nate Kaeding
DEF Kansas City (Playing the texans vs starting Tampa D against seahawks)
D - Julius Peppers D - Dwight Freeney DB - Champ Bailey DB - DeAngelo Hall DL - Mike Peterson DL - Cato June
BN Derrick Burgess Brian Kelly Mike Peterson Adewale Ogunleye
suggestions? i'm not sold enough on Julius yet to start him over brown/bush, looking to move for another WR/DB from waivers. My defense seems straight though

Quote : | "To All ESPN Fantasy Team Owners,
2007 is going to be a great year … for me and the Dallas Cowboys.
I came into training camp in excellent shape, feeling good about our prospects for the season and proud to be part of the great Dallas Cowboys tradition.
I want to help your fantasy team win its league title … and that means generating huge statistics. This year our offense is set up to make big plays. We worked hard during the preseason and we're going to connect on a lot of touchdowns. Coach and I are on the same page. He understands my role and how I can help us win.
So here is my pledge to all ESPN fantasy owners who draft me in 2007:
I will catch the ball.
I will score touchdowns.
I will have a great season.
Did you see the preseason game against Houston? One touch, one touchdown. That's how it's going to be all year long. I'm aiming for 100 catches, 1,500 yards and at least 20 touchdowns. With our quarterback passing the ball, this is entirely possible.
And speaking of my QB … you might as well draft him too, because he's going to the Pro Bowl this year.
Put me on your team and you won't be disappointed. I am going to help you win your fantasy league this season.
Sincerely,
Terrell Owens, No. 81" |

Bruce is a #2...Horn and Porter are #1s...Curry is a #2...Mason and Jones are #1s...Kennison is a great #2 but he's also 34 years old...I wouldnt mess with Anthony Gonzalez right now...he will never be higher than a 3rd stringer for Indy unless Harrison or Wayne gets hurt

so tell me who I should start at my flex (W/R) spot in each of my two leagues:
League 1 / 10 team league / PPR (points per reception) league
W/R Jamal Lewis (Cle - RB) BN Deion Branch (Sea - WR) BN Julius Jones (Dal - RB) BN Ladell Betts (Was - RB) BN Bernard Berrian (Chi - WR)
League 2 / 12 team league / non-PPR league
W/R Jamal Lewis (Cle - RB) BN D.J. Hackett (Sea - WR) BN Santonio Holmes (Pit - WR) BN Brandon Jackson (GB - RB) BN Leon Washington (NYJ - RB) BN Mike Furrey (Det - WR)
i'm leaning towards lewis in both leagues, even if it is against Pitt's defense 9/5/2007 3:36:04 PM |
SpreadCheeks Suspended 554 Posts user info edit post |
Panthro made a good point earlier about how Cleveland will probably be trailing most of the game vs Pitt, and will have to throw to try to catch up, severly limiting Lewis' value.
I like one of the WR's in the PPR league, probably Branch, even though he has Ronde Barber on him, He's got Hasselbeck to Berrian's Grossman.
For the second league, I'd say Jackson If I knew he was going to get most of the carries over Morency, but I don't. So I'd say Lewis for now but pay attention to the Packers info from now till Sunday. 9/5/2007 3:51:43 PM |

they say Morency isn't gonna be 100% for Week 1
I know what you mean about Cleveland probably trailing, but he's still a starting RB/3DRB/GLRB all in one...if they do get in the redzone he's a threat to score and will probably get 20+ carries anyway
also I have Kellen Winslow at TE in both leagues
course Leon Washington balled out on the Patriots last time they played...he will get some carries to relieve Jones
I might just start Branch and Hackett...I dunno

Did an auto draft for an 8 team standard scoring league and this is what I ended up with. I would like to get another big name WR to replace Williams or Stallworth with. I proposed a trade for Tory Holt (I know his knee isn't 100%) with me giving up Vinatieri (there are plenty of good kickers on the board) and Andre Johnson. I can cancel the trade as it hasn't been accepted yet. What do you think about the risk of taking Holt?
QB - Marc Bulger WR - Donte Stallworth WR - Donald Driver WR - Roy Williams RB - steven Jackson RB - Rudi Johnson TE - Antonio Gates K - Adam Vinatieri DEF - Denver

I haven't nailed down the starters yet and that was the way they were arranged on the draft. I will probably bench Driver instead of Stallworth. Driver is hurt and might not even play the first week. I could be wrong, but I think with Randy Moss on the other side opening things up, Stallworth could have a great year.
If I pick up Holt, it's a moot point. 9/5/2007 4:17:07 PM |
