Real can't afford to pay anyone 300,000 a week. This is all just posturing. If they could, then they'd have no problem bringing Kaka in (remember that promise?)

It's all just unsubstantiated bullshit.

And on top of that, any team that was dumb enough to break the bank with a salary like that would be setting themselves up for downfall.

Do you think RVN, Raul, Robinho, or whomever would stand for having a salary that was at BEST only half of what Ronaldo would be making?

Not a fucking chance.

I think Scolari is a good hire for Chelsea. 2 of his back 4 are currently on Portugal.

Deco is about 6 years past his prime

I think Chelsea fucked up hiring by hiring Scolari, but only time will tell. Scolari has never managed at the club level in Europe, doesn't speak a lick of english, and hasnt been involved in anything day-to-day since the late 90s.

what was the last club he managed? gremio in brazil? he doesnt have to worry about english cause there are only about 4 englishmen on that team that start...and im sure hell purchase a butt load of new players from elsewhere

aight i wikipedia't it and his last club was cruzeiro for 2000-2001 then he coached brazil right after, his longest stint with a club looks to be either 2.something years or 3 years total. lol this guy doesnt know the meaning of settling down with a club. actually portugal is his longest coaching position, but managing a national team takes a whole lot less work than a club team

Well if this was all for a pay raise, Ronaldo better just give it up now.

Quote :
"If you are going to demand a new one every six months or so, what's the point in signing it in the first place? So there will be no new contract offer as far as Ronaldo is concerned."

He once again hinted at his fondness for Real Madrid after helping Portugal to a 3-1 win over the Czech Republic on Wednesday night.

"I like a white kit," he said to the assembled reporters, before qualifying his statement.

"The white kit of the national team that is."
"

I wish he would've just come out and said for sure what he wanted in a huge announcement before the Euros because it's all getting kind of annoying. But he obviously loves the spotlight to be on him, with statements like that, and it will be the entire tournament.

"'A source close to the player said last night that he had made clear he would do everything in his power to persuade United to sell. That could mean anything from submitting a formal transfer request to refusing to report for pre-season training, but his next step will be to issue a further statement, outlining his intentions, as soon as Portugal's participation in the European Championship finals is over,' the newspaper reports."

So Mourniho confirmed that he is interested in Drogba, Lampard, and Deco on Inter. I say if he gets both Chelsea players Chelsea will be in big trouble. Chelsea also have an interest in Deco, and with Scolari coming in there is a good chance we grab him over Inter.

SAF has publically stated that he would walk out on United if they sell Ronaldo.

I don't know why Ronnie would want to go to Madrid - they have won La Liga for the past two years, sure, but they aren't good enough to win the Champions League, and wont be for a long time. I'm sort of a Madrid fan, too, but I dont see the logic.

Of course he wants more money, how many professional athletes don't?

but I don't know if it's all for a pay raise, I think he seriously puts Real Madrid at a higher level than other clubs. It's just like some people treat playing for the Yankees as "reaching the top" for a professional baseball player... sure, they're not the best right now but you've grown up hearing about all the Ruths, Gehrigs, Mantles, and all their championships and supposedly that's how he was with Madrid growing up.

There's plenty of history to it...United's first white/blue kit was worn in 1903.

Chelsea partners with CASL -- even if you hate Chelsea, you gotta admit this is pretty cool. I reffed that showcase tournament mentioned in the article last year, it's a pretty big deal... there were a lot of college coaches/pro scouts there.

That's really cool. CASL is a pretty well run organization and it's nice to see their success paying off.
