^^Apparantly nothing. I showed up and it took them three hours to even think about starting the tournament.
And they were going to play with items turned on.
And most people there had only played twice.

i mean, i understand why they turn items off, but it just saps teh fun out for me. this is why i dont play with ppl who take the game too seriously.

smash bros is about quick paced, silly fun with all kinda shit going down.

Well its good to hear they turned items on. Items are the best, seriously how hard is it use them. The only ones I could see being turned off would be hammers and starmans, thats it.

That's how I see it, but a tournament match should have items off. The balance could be unfairly shifted by a hammer dropping right in someone's lap. I kind of feel like a little bitch sometimes because I'm the first person to run for items rather than fight someone head-on.

Just had my first live experience with 3 other people

that was crazy, and that was fun

and yeah, I love the final smashes...every time someone would get one, you would hear, "NOW WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT??"

I hate it when I get the final smash ball and I mash the B-button but the character just does their regular b-attack over and over.

Has online gotten any better? Last few times I logged on most of the people were still "awaiting authentication" and it takes forever to get a random game.

It has only happened to me with Fox really since his neutral b is really fast.

Man I liked melee much more, this version is (pardon the nerd lingo) noobish. No wave dashing? The characters fall so much slower. The ground dodge seems less effective, and the characters do not seem very balanced. They also took out Dr. Mario, and killed Mario in general. Pit seems to be one of the better charachters now.

The item pickup sensitivity sucks compared to melee too. If I hadn't played melee it wouldn't be a big deal because I wouldn't be used to it, but it sucks when an item is slightly behind me and I tried to pick it up and I can't. Then I try to turn around and I go past the item and it's behind me again.

^ are you kidding?? item pickup is insane now, all you have do is like ran past it and it seems like it jumps into my hands when I don't want it to. There are many times when a bunch of my combos are ruined by picking up an item that isn't that close to me, instead of the attack.

Luigi was my fucking main from Melee, and they nerfed his karate chop so fucking bad. THAT WAS MY FUCKING MOVE! What the fuck, man? I also miss his "YAHOO!!!!" from doing his leg sweep in melee.
