So since Mike Glennon's high school number is currently taken by Daniel Evans, what do you think it should be come fall?

Let's say that his number should fall between 1-19

1&2 - possible but I don't really like these for QBs
3 - Taken by Underwood
4 - possible
5 - Jarvis Williams
6 - possible but I don't like this number because it reminds me of all the "pick 6"s we've had lately
7 - stated above
8 - possible
9 - possible
10 - Burke
11 - possible
12 - Beck
13 - Owen Spencer
14 - possible
15 - Darrell Davis
16 - Wilson
17 - Obviously No
18 - possible
19 - possible

So out of these we have: 1,2,4,6,8,9,11,14,18,19

I personally like 9 and 4 as a back up

I've always like #11 on a QB. There have been a lot of good QBs wear that number. Matt Leinart being the most recent (well in college, he wears #7 for the Cardinals).

Jay Davis was 10 and Stone was 9. Remember how we had the whole conversation on here that Stone and Mario Williams couldn't be on the field at the same time, just in case we wanted to run that special play they ran in one of the spring games where Mario lined up at WR during a goal line situation.

I forgot Stone was 9. He was one of the team's best leaders and played a mean tight end.

So if I forfeit 9, I'll bet 4 as the front runner and 8 as the back up. For some reason I'm not feeling the double digits.

Our defensive depth chart should be interesting come fall, lost a lot of players, gained a lot of Juco transfer types, and maybe a freshman or two will see the field.

I saw Bethlehem, PA and started wondering what happened to Kyle Newell. After some quick googling, the last news article was a premium article on gatorbait from Aug 7th, 2007 that talked about "Walk-on Kyle Newell saw some action with the second team offense at left tackle". Anyone know what happened to this guy?

Quote :
"A fall verbal, Linney committed to NC State while on campus for the Wolfpack's ACC game against Georgia Tech. He stated the fans played a role in his decision.

"The fans are crazy," he said. "It's shocking. I've never been around a crowd like it. I know they didn't win that game, but I won't forget how great the fans are. I can't wait to play in front of them.""

I remember that game, b/c I sat on the front row banging the padding on the walls of the NEZ and had a party for my 23rd birthday afterward. The crowd was very loud even though we weren't doing very well at the time. I brought my decibel meter and even though I sat in the NEZ where there are less students, it once read 108 dB.

Note to those that sit on the front rows where there is padding on the walls, lean over and bang the shit out of those things as well as yelling. They make a ton of noise.

Way too much Carolina Blue in that one section. The one in the lower level next to the thinner section.

I like how you can tell that the student section has more red in it.

What is our left tackle doing on the ground? Who is that? Also why is the left guard not blocking anyone? I thought TOB and Coach Horton were coaching these guys better than that. At least Meares Green has got a great block on his man over there to the right. Evans I really hope that you are dumping it over the middle to an open Anthony Hill and not throwing it into double coverage to the WR on the left.

Phil Steele's 2008 Toughest Schedules
http://www.philsteele.com/FBS%20Info/toughestschedule.html

ACC Schools
#9 - Virginia
#10 - NC State
#36 - Maryland
#37 - Georgia Tech
#44 - Miami
#49 - Boston College
#50 - Florida State
#56 - Duke
#63 - North Carolina
#68 - Wake Forest
#69 - Virginia Tech
#73 - Clemson

OOC Opponents
#26 - South Carolina
#60 - USF
#89 - ECU

Quote :
"According to the NCAA’s method, which is based on winning percentage for opponents, Florida International plays the 66th toughest schedule and NCSt faces the 61st toughest. Florida Int’l has to battle such “powers” as W Kent, N Texas and ULL playing 3 teams from BCS conferences (9 opp non-BCS!). NCSt’s “equal” schedule has TEN teams from BCS Conferences and outside of the ACC they face USF (who also faces FIU), South Carolina and East Carolina which are teams who are all near the top in their leagues. They will likely be an underdog in 8 or 9 of their games. If they played Florida International’s schedule they would be favored 9 of the 12 games."

I hope we get to see Eric Weaver (#90) on the playing field more this season. During the off-season he's bulked up to be a beast, and I think he would be a great target for either Glennon, Evans, or whichever QB is starting...I mean at 6'7" who the hell is going to keep him from catching the ball?

I expect you all to carry on this thread and the recruiting threads while I'm away. Watch us get a commitment and I end up being the last to know. Yeah although we lose Marcus Stone, who was definitely huge for us last year, I think we gain more with Anthony Hill coming back. Hill is a natural TE, has great hands and size, and plenty of experience. I expect Hill to be an All-ACC selection this year provided our QB, whoever that may be, can get him the ball.
