Torres' first...are you kidding me? that's almost (if not straight-up) the equal of Macheda's last week

as for Macheda's today...good golly...Cristiano Ronaldo would have had no right to score that goal

The FA Cup game today is the perfect example of why you don't use controversial refs.

Mike Riley was being blasted by the Everton faithful all week, and in turn he denies a stone cold penalty for United to show that he's not "in their pocket."

United bossed that whole fucking game and did not deserve to be dumped out on penalties.

I seem to recall Chelsea doing the same thing in last seasons Champions League final. They had he better chances but lost on penalties. You go to penalties its like russian roulette. Glad Everton won gives Chelsea a better shot at the FA Cup

I still want the rematch in the CL Chelsea just have a tough road to hoe. Barca are playing great football and Messi is going to exploit Cole who has looked shaky lately.

Cole is out for the first leg, man.

Messi is going to RAPE Chelsea's left flank.

I didn't get to watch because I was busy working on homework, but I'm glad to hear Everton won. I always like to see the teams with Americans on them win. btw, WTF was FSC doing by showing Super Sunday and then a taped delayed Serie A game over the Super Clasico? I would have liked to watch it on tv live. Thank goodness for the internet feeds. I can't wait till May 9th either for the next Old Firm.

^^ So you cheer for teams with Americans on them. How quaint.

I'll bet you're a Rangers fan, too. How terribly quaint.

I don't see the problem in him pulling for Everton due to Howard.

indeed. I usually pull for Fulham to win because of Dempsey... I mean, it's not like I've gone out and bought all their jerseys and joined their official fan club but what's wrong with cheering for an individual you have some connection to rather than haphazardly choosing a Premier League team you have no connection to?

Supporting or liking one player because of their skill is completely different than supporting someone because of their nationality. You might pull for Fulham because of Dempsey, and that's fine, because I know you recognize his skill.

Cheering for someone because they're American alone, and cheering for a team that has Americans on it is just fucking stupid.

It says to me "oh, I really only watch this game in passing, I don't care enough about it to pick a team and follow it through thick and thin"

I have no patience for that sort of sophomoric fair weather fantasy football xenophobic shit.

and as I've stated before, I'm probably the only united supporter here that has any tie to the region.

well fuck me for (sort of) defending him but let me just say

For most Americans, they either - a) don't have a local team to support or b) don't give a shit about their local team so they're only a US Nats fan. I follow the local USL team now but until recently the only team I really had was the US National Team. I honestly don't care if whatever team an American is playing on is good or not, I just care about how the American does because I hope it translates into a good national team player.

I don't really think it's the mentality of "fuck you rest of the world, I only love America!" At least for me anyways, it's "I like watching soccer, I don't have a connection to any team, so I'll pull for the guys that I know." Well it's that, anybody who plays United, and GERRRARRRD.

I'm sorry that you're a bandwagon fan and are pissed off that United lost, but I really don't have a favorite team. The Railhawks are our local team, so I guess them and NC State are my teams. I don't have any connection to any South American, or European teams, so I really don't care who wins as long as it is a good game.

Read what you quoted, shitbag.

I have ties to Manchester United and the region and have been a lifelong fan.

If you were ballsy enough to call me a bandwagon fan to my face, I'd stuff whatever United paraphernalia i had present down your throat.

There is nothing fair weather about cheering for any team with Americans on it. Our national team isn't good enough to win the World Cup and outside of when Tim Howard was goalkeeper Manchester United none of them have played for any of the really good teams that win the league just about every year.

normally i agree with everything kiljadn says on here...but i dont get why hes pissed off here at all. i pulled for fulham last year to stay in the EPL cause of the american contingency they had...had there been no americans on that team i wouldnt have given a shit if they got relegated. seems like b4c is a neutral fan to the english league and i havent seen anyone he really pulls for, so he should be the last that is lambasted over pulling for anyone with americans on it since he really doesnt have a team that he may be going against(say pulling for team with american against said team's rival that happened to be his fave club).

from the outside, just looks like kiljadn is pissed off at the loss. im not gonna sit here and lament over the loss myself. i was pissed utd lost. but they shouldnt need to be relying on a single pk call in the game to beat everton...god knows we get enough calls our way during the season to begin with.

^It doesn't help when you rest the starters too. The FA Cup is like the US Open Cup in America. Most big teams are more worried about the league title and international tournaments. It's nice to win the domestic cup, but it isn't the big teams number 1 goal of the year.

well the fa cup has lost some of its luster over the last few years...and the finals have been pretty awful lately too. i really hope everton come away with the win. i cant stand chelski, and this would propel tim howard even more as one of the top GKs in the epl if they could win.

I am a Liverpool fan because my friend is from England and that's his family's team.

Is that allowed or am I supposed to just pull for the Railhawks?

Sure it is. Pull for whatever team you want in each country and league from around the world, but when it comes to the local league then pull for the local team.

^^^

that fourth goal was definitely NOT automatic...first of all, the kid had to be fast as balls to get into position to score it, which isn't really skill, but nevertheless speaks for his quality as a striker. And second, that was not an automatic goal...if he were on the right, maybe, but he pretty much had to use his left foot.

I'll give him credit for converting every one of those four chances; strikers blow chances all the time. One can't yet call him an elite striker (of the caliber of Torres or Ibrahimovic) just yet; but I think this time next year he will be regarded as such.

At least it looks like Liverpool are going to come close this year. And next year, I am afraid Arsenal are going to be dangerous as fuck.
