I agree that Wison played great, made excellent decisions most of the time and the long balls were thrown beautifully. And what a catch by George Bryan in the clutch!! 10/5/2008 12:42:55 PM |

^ FSU is fast, but they are not that great defensively. Shit they gave up 39 pts to Miami in the rain. FSU's D did look good against Wake, but that is because Wake is so one dimensional and could not get the running game going.
FSU will probably kill us though on offense because Ponder looks like he's finally figuring it out for the Seminoles and Antoine Smith is a beast. Our D is going to get tired quickly in this game. 10/6/2008 10:39:01 AM |

FSU is way better than BC.
Their last two games they have started to get some offense going too. 10/6/2008 10:45:36 AM |

^^ dude, they lead the league in total defense... even after the Miami game, if we get it done it's going to have to be through the air. Maybe Russell Wilson won't get hurt.

^ Yeah because they gave up zero yards/points in their first two games and then played well against Wake and Colorado. I am not arguing that they are a good defense, but I do think as long as Wilson plays we'll be able to score some points. I am more worried about FSU rolling up the offense on us. BC was the best defense in everything when they rolled in CF as well. 10/6/2008 10:52:33 AM |

I just wanted to throw a little salt on everyone's wounds and point out the UNC - Fagel Hill is ranked in the AP at 22 this week.
I really hope that they die in a fire and soon.

I admittedly have only seen FSU play once this year, but BC probably has the best O-line in the ACC easily. If we have Irving back for FSU, and we can get some pressure on the FSU QB, we'll be a MUCH better defense than we have been the past two games.
Also, supposedly Cash will be back for FSU, makes us a completely different team.

Lots of misdirection needed for FSU.
--------
Statefans is having a discussion about how we should have let them score on their last drive so we would have had more time to come back and tie it.
I must say, during the game, I thought we should have let them score. Our defense wasn't stopping shit, our offense was doing well. Betting on the offense at that point would have given us a better chance to to tie it and win in over time.
The biggest downside would have been that their players had the brains to realize what we were doing and take a knee before the endzone. If we just told our guys not to wrap up, hit hard, or shed blocks (what they were doing anyway :beatup, that could have made a good enough show of it, though.

^That's a horrible comment, eventually it's better to let them score than to let them have a 15 yard field goal or something. It's about giving yourself the best chance to win. I would've been fine if we could've stopped them but definitely letting them score wouldn't have been a bad option. (letting them score certainly wasn't the best option but I can see why people would think about it)

I really don't think there's a way to explain to a person why LETTING ANOTHER TEAM SCORE is a bad idea if they don't already understand that very simple fact. 10/6/2008 9:17:43 PM |

let them score? Craziness. You have to try to hold them to a field goal, it's easier to kick a field goal to tie than to score a touchdown no matter how much time under 2 minutes is left. 10/8/2008 11:59:38 PM |

Agreed. From what I hear from inside sources, I don't think the coaches/trainers are too happy with him either. *sigh* 10/9/2008 1:46:17 AM |

^^ problem is is that the offense is often times in a position to wind the clock down to 5 or 6 seconds not allowing another possession by the opposing team. At least pretending to have your line suck and allowing a touchdown would give the ball back to you within a score.
On top of that, if you can go score for score with a team, but you can't stop them to save your life, you would also go for 2 at some point, either before the 3rd OT or the last score in regulation. (See Boise St. 2 years ago against OK) 10/9/2008 9:59:37 AM |

^^I'm not saying he's a superstar, but y'all are just being retarded when you say he's "the worst linebacker." He had some good hits and a forced fumble which we recovered. 10/9/2008 3:20:06 PM |
