whatever, all the holding calls in the first half were legit holds... our d-line was killing them

those back-to-back bad calls in that drive and the touchdown right after halftime were the huge momentum changer in the game


true we should have tackled better and done a lot of other things differently... but there's no way those weren't pivotal moments in the game

there are penalties every game.

there are penalties that one team doesnt agree with every game, on both sides.

one team still finds a way to win.

penalties dont give you points, you still have to do something... as many people on here pointed out, FSU KEPT converting 3rd and 15, 3rd and 20 etc. They were pushed back by their own penalties/tackles and still were able to convert, thats why they won.

Our defense lost the game in the second half. Some somewhat bad calls, but nothing to terrible, and the officiating was pretty good overall.

Also, we should have used eugene to test the edges way earlier and much more. I think we bought into the hype of FSU being fast on the outside rather than making them prove it.

I blame it on coaching. TOB for being TOB and not getting on the refs once the penalties kept piling up. Archer for playing the softest defense known to man and trying to break new records in yards allowed. Bible for not trusting in Wilson more. Even our special teams coach (that punt where our whole team stood between the ball and the goal line and it still found its way into the endzone was embarassing). We were outcoached, period.

we are so darn close it is crazy; we are only a couple of plays/players away from being a good team

our d did not play that badly i didn't think; i tend to think that if we don't give them some cushion sometimes with our young secondary that teams will just burn us deep all game long; they only took a few shots downfield and got the one to surrency and he dropped another one. we just can't cover and that is not tob's fault b/c these are not his players yet; you have to give him four to five years to get his guys in there.

i can see so much improvement from last year and can't wait to see us in a couple years. we are going to be such a fundamentally sound football team with better playmakers than he ever had at BC (graham, spencer, glennon, terrell manning, brandon barnes, etc.) just give it some time guys. a lot of positives from tonight to build on for the rest of the year. a lot of our remaining games are winnable.
