Honestly the best retaliation you could have is to do nothing, let the student paper run a story on it and demand an explanation for such an atrocious act.

Going back and forth doesnt really do anything but propagate the feud. The first one to stop and say hey, this is over the line and absolutely classless, would likely come off as the more reasonable (and victimized). Usually thats the side that wins the favorable popular opinion.

^^^^I've got a feeling ncsuftw1 is at the Canes game so he wont be doing anything on tww for a while

and bcfurste if what you said is true, you should send it in to WRAL, they did a big story with tv interviews and all on one guy's poor choice of words on TWW post-2007 ACC tournament, this is a lot more shameful and an ugly, disrespectful, classless act

but odds are we'll never hear a word of it

I'm about as objective as they get...and the foul really wasn't that bad. I would say it was even borderline intentional. It was a hard foul, and I think the main reason they called it intentional was because of the circumstances.

I've got no problem with McCauley and that foul.

Even before Ben stuffed the guy, I was really not disappointed with the game, the effort I saw was pretty encouraging and except for our unusually poor post play and occasional lapses in transition defense, we were playing pretty solid basketball by the fact alone that we could bring it back to eight points in the second half and gave them a good struggle for a large part of the game

if they can keep up the consistent effort and not go on a patented cold streak in the crucial stretches we could win 5-7 more games with an occasional upset like GT over WFU today. I know that's going to be hard with the away games of course, but there were some optimistic signs coming out of the game

also interesting to note, Fells actually signaled that he wanted to come out and rest for a bit when he was on that hot streak, Lowe said he almost wanted to ignore it and have him stay in, also was nice of Ben to apologize to Roy and Roy tell him that an apology was absolutely unnecessary, he was just playing hard

I feel bad for Copeland. He rarely gets to play. He's not nearly as good as people predicted. He has to sit on the bench with the rest of the cheerleading scrubs, and you know he never thought that's what his college career would amount to. I'm not saying he was supposed to be a star, but at any other program he'd be better than a scrub. Anyway, he finally gets a chance to score a basket and gets fouled pretty hard.

McCauley did the right thing by fouling him hard.

But Copeland did the right thing by charging. He just charged the wrong person. He shoulda charged Roy Williams, then himself, and then walked his ass to another school where he might be able to get some minutes...all that "frustration" he wrongly aimed towards McCauley would likely disappear.

The defacing of the Yow mural makes me think of a scene from Revenge Of The Nerds

I say we blow their fucking houses up.
No. We can't resort to violence. That'll just bring us down to their level.
- What do we do? - We gotta beat 'em at their own game.
We've gotta become the best fraternity on campus.
You know, if we win that homecoming carnival,
we can take over the presidency of the Greek Council. That would drive 'em crazy.
But, Gilbert, if we don't get approved by the Tri-Lambs, we won't even be a fraternity.
- I say we blow the fuckers up. - No. We can't do that.
But you're right.
Their action tonight demands an immediate retaliation.
And if we don't, we're nothin' but the nerds they say we are.

We should seriously just think like Booger and blow their school up.

^^^^I can't believe that WRAL actually covered it, I give them some props

they said about all they could to insinuate the likely culprits but given that there's not much chance at linking it to anyone and the fact that there was nothing illegal/threatening done in the first place in an area allowing free expression, I'm just glad that they brought it to the attention of the area and maybe shame the culprits a bit for such a tasteless, classless act

in case anybody didn't see it in chit chat, to quote jwb9984

"Wuffies stoop to all time low - Kay Yow mural defaced

"Raleigh, N.C. — A large portrait of North Carolina State University women’s basketball coach Kay Yow, who died one week ago from breast cancer, was defaced by blue graffiti and profanity Saturday night."

Immediate blame from the Wuffies is on Carolina for doing this.

Given their colorful track record, which includes calling for lynching Ty Lawson, statements about President Obama, and other hate-speech, I have no doubt this was done by a group of their own in an attempt to detract from our victory and make us look bad."

No shit. The Hansbrough goal tending was so badly obvious.

3 charge calls went all their way and honestly I thought all three were wrong.

Costner took an obvious charge on Ellington, blocking foul.

Costner drives and barely hits Lawson in the side, charge.

Fells on fastbreak driving to goal, Fraser slips in front of him at last second for an obvious block, charge.

^ not to mention the travels that went uncalled. I replayed one of Hansbrough's possession in the paint and he took FOUR fucking steps without dribbling and made the shot. Whatever, it is what it is.

i know for a fact that 2 of those were legit charges as feet were set and the player was in a great spot to draw the foul.

not that it really makes a difference, but costner's charge on lawson was a terrible call.

he fucking sidestepped around the guy.

Costner was also called for a block where his feet were perfectly set. On the 2 charges he committed, he was actually trying to avoid the charge. Hansbrough's feet may have been "set", but you can't set your feet and not stop your body. He stepped into costner's line and hit the ground in one motion. Thats not a charge. Plus, Costner had started to change directions, much like he did on the Lawson charge.

If it takes that little effort to knock over a 6'9" 250 pound slow white mother fucker, then that slow white mother fucker is a pussy.

For the Tarhole fags who ask why McCauley was in the game during a blowout instead of playing the scrubs, I ask you what was Psycho T doing jacking up 3 pointers with a minute left in the game

^I wonder why McCauley and Costner actually try to play legitimate defense on Hansbrough...Hansbrough doesn't play defense on anybody...he rarely goes for a shot block unless its with help defense...he just fucking flops all the time...BUT...if thats how the refs call it, then why didn't Costner and McCauley flop when Hansbrough slammed into them?

oh I completely agree but honestly, we wouldn't get away with that shit. Special treatment for special players.

Lowe said last year that he doesn't teach his players to fall down. He said he wants them to get in good position, and if they get hit enough for the call to be made they won't have any choice but to go down. I like that strategy for us considering we won't get the calls if we flop (we ARE nc state after all)...but it also helps you get in better position IMO.

I remember hearing some former Duke bball player doing a radio interview one time, and he said THE FIRST DAY of practice when he was a freshman, K taught people to take charges

I have faith in Sid's coaching ability, but in the COLLEGE GAME, if the refs are going to call a bunch of pussy charges all the time, might as well play along with it

I think college basketball really needs a circle (or a half circle actually) like they have in the NBA, where if you're inside the circle, its pretty much never a charge (unless you kick somebody in the face or something) and only if you're outside the circle do they even consider calling an offensive foul

plus they need jump balls instead of that gay ass possession arrow, but thats a story for another day
