you must play some shit teams if they let you park a tank there. 2 TOW's have a clear shot at that spot, not to mention just about everyone else on the battlefield

I can snipe in that spot every time pretty much unfettered. Its easy, but you usually have to have a squad mate support you as Assault class. They keep you supplied and you just keep chunking out motion senor mines, he kills hill-rushers and you snipe.

Not really, you also have the power to send out mortar strikes as well. Its really a noob spot, but if you can effectively use the spot, then use it.

I do not understand why more people on 360 don't communicate. I mean, really, how hard is it to plug in your headset? That's ALL you have to do! No configuration, no nothing.

While I'm ranting, I might as well get in my jab on snipers, too. If your team is on defense, why would you NOT throw motion sensors just about everywhere? Especially when someone like me is actually throwing out ammo packs all the time? No ammo is no excuse, 'cause I'm getting points for reloading your sorry ass.

And yet, for as frustrating as this game can be, at least it's nowhere near as bad as Street Fighter IV.

lol yeah ok. sorry, but if a team lets you live up there...especially since they moved the OOB line up there post-beta...they suck. one recon/assault with C4 could basically eliminate your tank from the round, and an engineer sure as shit can't out repair 2 TOW's that are being used effectively.

simply put, any good team on defense on that map is going to have a few people who are going strong to shut down the armor. it's a prerequisite if you want to win without letting them advance.

only problem i see with that strategy is the fact that many people use the heavy MG emplacement in the structure (myself included) to take out the snipers. that MG has awesome range and i've easily killed scores of snipers up on that hill. the tank is the same thing since there is a TOW on the level below that i've successfully used to take out armor parked on the hill.

there are plenty of times I got over 30 kills in a 50 ticket round using that tank technique. Motion sensors from snipers display anyone within C4 range and assaults or snipers on the ridge get easy kills. having a tank parked at a place snipers flourish should give you a big hint of the amount of damage tank shells can do with a direct line or site at the battlefield and only mortars to worry about. (all mounted weapons are done in one well placed shot, as are buildings)

I have used the tank there to push the rest of my team forward giving them support as they rushed. You act like this game is 2v2

the map is port valdez; the hill is right at the beginning of the map. the more you play the more you will learn the maps. i was the same way and now i know pretty much all the maps (except the absolute newest ones) by heart. the other thing you can do if you wanna explore the various maps is to join an empty server as an attacker and basically "play" a round by yourself to advance the maps. this will give you the chance to explore without being blown up/killed by someone. nice thing is you rack up points for free

has anyone had a problem similar to this? when using the alternate weapons package on the UAV for the .50cal, eventually it will stop working (assuming it "runs out of ammo"). i'm not talking about the cool down but rather it will just stop working after some time. when i proceed to exit the UAV and get into a tank, i try to use the alt weapon for the tank and nothing happens at all; it's as if it is not active when i know it still is.

All I know if the pitch "up" and "down" is backwards and I cant control the thing at all.

ok. you have to have the ammo upgrade for vehicles to use alternate fire on all vehicles including the UAV. This gets you the machine gun.

Still uncontrollable

it is the "alternate weapons" vehicle package not the "ammo upgrade" vehicle package; they are 2 different things.

also said they are making a good bit of weapon tweaks but not announcing them - wanting to see player feedback first without knowing what's going on. and punkbuster is required for all ranked servers now (can't believe they went so long without it)

thanks for that info goalie; looks to be a really good effective update coming. i'm hoping the m60 and other LMGs get adjusted to get them more on par with the rest of the game's weapons.

i wouldn't think so. it's not changing the size of the hitbox. if you read up on it more, it's changing where the hitbox is placed in relation to the model on screen. apparently the game is optimized for a 100m ping. given that I usually play on servers with under 50 ping, i'm an order of magnitude off from my optimal settings for shooting where I see on screen vs. where the server thinks I should be shooting.

i'll have to give this a shot

so i upgraded and now my MP game crashes to desktop every 10-15 minutes, and my SP game wont even load, it crashes while 'Loading' to desktop

I have this through steam, and had some issues at first, but after editing the settings.ini file thoroughly, it runs liquid smooth @ 120Hz on my HDTV. I love being Recon, it reminds me of owning people with the AWP in Counterstrike. So far this game seems like the perfect combination for a FPS. It is fun to just sit down and play for an hour or two. Last night I got two knife kills in a row, in under 2 seconds, by sneaking around the sniper camping spot and dealing out justice. It was so satisfying.

On Wednesday 21st April Xbox 360 players can change how their soldiers look on the Battlefield with the Kit Upgrade DLC.

Want some details on what the DLC includes? Of course you do:

There are 4 kits, one for each class, specific unique uniforms and camouflaged weapons gives you a visual edge. I mean what good is a camouflaged soldier if the gun sticks out like a sore thumb?

Recruited strictly from other high-level Special Operations units such as Delta Force and Spetsnaz, the Special Activities groups – SPECACT - are the elite of the elite, used mainly for covert operations and other high-risk missions in areas where conventional troops cannot be used.

With the 4 kit specific unique uniforms and the camouflaged SPECACT personal M16A2, UMP-45, MG3 and M95 SNIPER you have a visual edge on the Battlefield, showing that you’re a force to be reckoned with. The pack also includes 12 new awards and 4 Achievements.

In North America the kit upgrades are only available on Xbox 360 using the Dr Pepper codes printed on special promotional cans.

In Europe and the UK you can get hold of the kit upgrades for:

Xbox Live Marketplace
160 MS points per kit upgrade
440 MS points for bundle pack (all kits)

The kit upgrades will also be coming to PS3 and PC a little later on, we’ll post the exact release dates here as soon as we can."


So what, you'll probably end up buying $20 worth of soda before you find all four codes unless you are lucky enough to get all four in four cans or trade them off? Oh and it say CANS, the most expensive way to buy soda. I guess you can buy a 12-pack for $3 and cross your fingers.

On the Dr. pepper website it looks like it will in fact be bottle caps with codes for a variety of EA, so basically while every caps wins you could get a code for a game you do not own.

It's bottles. The promotion for this began before the game was even out. I've had 7 codes registered since February, and the launch date of the content was supposed to be launch date of the game but has been pushed back at least 3 times now. Unfortunately, it's all just reskins of existing content. The DLC for Mass Effect 2 works just fine, though.

finally got my brother to embrace the electronics kit on the vehicles. that with a good gunner(s) on the tank or APC destroys all if you are in a wooded area with not too many long range rocket locations. went 2 games with 12k+ point rounds. i am sort of doubting the stacking vehicle abilities in vehicles like the Huey and APC cuz 4 guys in an APC with all different(warhead,electronic, armor, optic/reload) abilities could not be stopped.

a few well-placed mines would sure stop some armor

one thing i took notice of last night was the shear lack of anti-air. there really is only that Russian AA armor vehicle; big difference from BF2 that's for sure.

When they did the DR Pepper DLC for ME2, after entering in a valid code it let you pick which game and which piece of content you wanted. idk if its the same for this promotion.

Significantly increased the speed of the Tracer Dart projectile to make it more effective against airborne targets.
Increased the reload time of the Mortar Strike and reduced the damage it does to heavily armored vehicles.
Decreased the range of Bolt Action Sniper and Pump Shotgun Slug rounds when using Magnum Ammo for better Kit Balance, especially in Hardcore.
Slightly increased the Health of soldiers in Hardcore for better Kit Balance.

Increased the benefit from the Medkit Heal+ specialization to make it more desirable as a Specialization.
Decreased the benefit from Vehicle Reload Speed to balance it against other Vehicle Specializations.

Fixed a bug where the BMD3 would take extra damage to the front armor.
Reduced the explosive damage from Attack Helicopter cannons.

Don't rejoice yet, the M60 is still fucking OP. Just not while running. The tracer dart is apparently the most broken adjustment now.

Reduced the explosive damage from Attack Helicopter cannons. - fucking lame, the damn thing does nothing vs armor as it is, it can chew up infantry but now it's gonna be harder to find a decent gunner on it.... (the blackhawk guns suck)

yeah, per round it does more damage than the m16 to begin with, 2 round burst, they were better off making the burst deviation tighter with it and the m16 (m16 3 round with the 3rd being more off than the first 2)

oh well....

I love the mines in this game. They do some WORK. I was playing defense on Arica two days ago and managed to get 12 vehicle kills (9 tanks, 2 jeeps, and even 1 unlucky ATV) in one round - all at the first set of crates. Port Valdez is also great for using choke points to hold off armor. I'm still in the 30's for kills for each of the rocket launchers, but my mine kills are up to 256.

I wonder if the 360 is going to be getting these updates, and if so, when? I'd be thrilled that the tracer dart is being improved although I've gotten pretty good at tagging helicopters with it. So long as my UMP and M416 aren't being screwed with, then I'm really happy.

any hints/suggestions for using the AN94 Abakan on assault class? i'm having a hard time getting used to the 2 round burst. i havent had much luck with this weapon and i'd like to use it more for sake of variety

^^That thing is a beast when you get used to it. Just pull the trigger as fast as you can, b/c there's pretty much no delay b/t the bursts.
