LOL, the bobcats are destined for mediocrity
They will never EVER be good. You trade stephen jackson to get Bismack Biyombo? Biyombo has bust written all over him. Kemba, jimmer or knight would've been much better picks than a guy who is nothing but a defensive project 6/23/2011 8:17:39 PM |

LOL @ Kemba Walker...
some flashes of greatness when he gets hot, but when he's cold he absolutely cripples a team, especially if he's not getting to the foul line 10-12 times a game. 6/23/2011 9:30:32 PM |

I mean, I don't think he's gonna be a perennial all-star or anything, but the Big East is no defensive slouch and teams literally game-planned their entire defense to him. The only other top talent they had was Jeremy Lamb and he barely played at all until halfway through the Big East season.
Basically, if he was bad, UConn got smoked. And they won the national title. Just saying...

not a big Kemba fan at all (in terms of him as an NBA player, seems like a good kid). don't see him ever being more than a 6th man, Ben Gordon/Jason Terry type. which isn't a bad thing. 6/23/2011 11:29:00 PM |

Ok, what's the lineup next season?
PG: Kemba/DJ SG: Henderson SF: Magette PF: Tyrus/Diaw? C: Biyombo. Brown?
Nothing against the picks ... I actually like both (and everybody at the bar seemed to love the Kemba pick). Still, that's one shitastic crew right there. 6/23/2011 11:54:40 PM |

Also ... not one to read into much analysis, but for a team that lacks any sort of offensive go-to guy, this is good to read:
Quote : | "Strengths: Walker's game is marked by "electricity" and explosiveness. Plays with an undefinable burst, seemingly moving in warp speed while everyone else is standing still- yet he remains for the most part under control, with the ball on a string. Working in his favor is a freakish blend of raw speed, breathtaking quickness, ultra-aggression and sneaky power. Scores from anywhere on the court (23.5 ppg). Can't be contained by a single defender off the dribble, be it in the half court or most notably in transition. Splits double teams and traps in a blink. Changes direction at FULL speed. He is a master at creating space, using jab steps, cross overs and pump fakes to shed defenders. " |

Kemba pick stinks especially with legit talent like Leonard and faried available.
In the past 6 seasons weve spent 3 top ten picks on guys who are under 6 feet. That would barely be acceptable for a wnba team
Thank god this won't be an 82 game season, because this team is gonna lose a lot of money every game 6/24/2011 12:04:40 AM |

I think I'm just going to pull agianst the Bobcats next season.
They look like a 28-30 win team next year. Maybe we can have some injuries and hit 23 wins and get a lottery pick so early that we can't screw it up for the 7th year in a row. 6/24/2011 12:27:05 AM |

CBS Sportsline really needs to get its act together. When grading each individual draft pick, they gave the Bobcats an F for Biyombo and a B for Kemba. They later followed it up with this. I guess an F + B = A+ ??
Quote : | "Charlotte Bobcats: Bismack Biyombo, Kemba Walker. Grade: A+. A savvy GM knows his team's lot in life. Rich Cho, just weeks on the job, launched a full-scale rebuild by shuttling out Stephen Jackson and adding an extra lottery pick, securing the draft's best defensive prospect and a fan-friendly, dynamic point guard who has a definite shot of making it big at the NBA level. There are plenty more moves in Charlotte's future, but this was a great start.
