I could be ok with failing due to injuries if it looked like the gameplan had been altered to suit the necessities of the new defensive arrangements.

Here's what I imagine goes on in Archer's head.

"Ok, I've got all these guys and I know their strengths. Fuck it, I'm going to use a prevent defense"
"FUCK why aren't you players able run back up and deal with running attacks. And why the HELL isn't my 4 man defensive line getting to the quarterback. You guys suck"

Irving by himself would blow up the offensive line and draw double teams, opening it up for Cole and Manning. One player makes a fucking difference, contrary to what faggots were asserting before the season started. Same goes with wilson -- he would convert these 3rd downs with his threat to run, smarts, and accuracy.

It's pretty obvious that:

1) Our defensive scheme is worse than at any point I can remember. We've made no adjustments since the Wake Forest game. We're getting beat on the same exact shit.

2) We have not been able to recruit talent to the school, particularly on the defensive side of the ball.

It's so disappointing because we had such a decent flow of talented athletic players several years (although we were rarely able to put it together on the field). Now that we have a fairly disciplined group of players, we don't have the ability to make plays. Our depth is laughable at most all positions.
